Revell U-Boat VIIC/41 Atlantic Version, 1/72, 05045

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$175

Renwal See-Thru SSBN 618 Thomas Jefferson Polaris Nuclear Submarine, 1/200, 653

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

$245

Classic 1950s boxart at it's finest and the rarest of all the Renwal SSBNs. Large 24 inch long kit with clear right half that is hinged to open. The Jefferson is the only Renwal sub that has the clear hull half - all others have a solid gray hinged half. The clear hull half model has never been reissued. The clear half is in very good condition and carefully wrapped for shipping. There are no splits, cracks or breaks and the only flaw is typical slight yellowing. Features a heavily detailed interior and actual 'launching' Polaris missile from a spring loaded missile tube. NOTE: this kit has very minor and neat assembly to two parts: the torpedo room bulkhead and inner wall are assembled to 'near mint' quality. There is no other assembly. Those two parts and one torpedo cradle are very neatly painted; there is no other painting. All parts have been inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.

Hawk Ski Boat Sport Runabout Rag Top - Motorized and with Working Skier, 205-200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$155

Very rare. Dated 1961 with hardbox artwork by Bill Campbell. Large-scale kit measures 10 inches long when built, but no scale is given. Designed for motorized operation in water and can actually tow a water skier, which is included. Molded in a stunning high-gloss dark blue, ivory, chrome plate and light tan. Features dual rudder control, high-torque propeller, female boat driver, male water skier with ski sled, universal joint drive, removable cabin top, detailed cabin and display stand. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts, electric motor and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina - Scale Error Version, 1/74, 374-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$135

Rare, first issue artwork from about 1955-56. This was a fine effort by Aurora for that time and an impressive model when assembled. Features retracting pontoons and rotating props. Includes correct early logo instructions which show the clear 'Triangle World' stand and the correct stand is included. This must be one of the first instances of the 'Triangle' stand being used as it is normally associated with oval 'Famous Fighter' logo kits. Molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please note the 'good' grade due to small white paint spots at the right and a slight crunch at the upper right corner. It is interesting to note that the early Aurora PBY issue has at least three small variations to the box top. The very first issue says '1/4 SCALE MODEL' at the top right. Clearly, this kit is not 1/48 scale and someone at Aurora corrected it. Following that, there are two known corrections: early and late. On the early version, the '1/4' was blotted out with a dark blue oval or circle and '5/32' was added after the word 'SCALE.' It was now correct, but the appearance was not completely professional. This box is the early, uncorrected version.

Pyro The Privateer Antique Pistol, 1/1, C202-129

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$69

Early hardbox issue from the late 1950s or very early '60s. In addition to cars, ships, planes and figures, Pyro added an excellent line of well-known and not-so-well-known life-sized (1/1) scale pistol and rifle models to their line. In each case Pyro gained access to the actual weapon during the kit design, insuring an accurate model. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the factory sealed bag; the two largest parts were never sealed and are complete including instructions.

Necomisa Lockheed Vega Winnie Mae - Post's Round the World Record Settting Aircraft - (ex Lindberg), 1/48, 2214

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Good+

$30

Still factory sealed but the seal has multiple splits. Pyro Mississippi River Boat Packet Natchez, 1/160, B238-800

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$169

Beautiful hardbox issue from the mid 1960s. Very large and highly detailed model measures over 21 inches long when assembled. The Natchez was the famous rival of the Robert E Lee. The race between the two is considered a classic tale of The River. Although the Lee won, the circumstances were suspect and many people still considered the Natchez the fastest paddle-wheel packet ever. (For example, the Lee carried no payload and the Natchez was carrying passengers and a normal payload.) Molded in high-gloss tan, burgundy, green and gray plastic. All details of the real ship, including the wooden railings and carvings are duplicated. Includes full rigging instructions and thread. Never started. All the parts that were originally factory sealed are still in the factory sealed bags; the few parts that Pyro did not seal have been inventoried complete. With instructions, decals and flag sheet.

Berkeley Dr. Walter Good's Royal Rudder Bug - 62 Inch Winspan RC Flying Aircraft

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$169

Rare. 1950s model of this very early radio control aircraft with a 62 inch wingspan. Dr. Walter Good, a famous pioneer of radio controlled flight, designed this aircraft. In the 1930s he won several National competitions - often his design was the only one to fly properly. Please note the similarity in design to the early free-flight models - most early RC models had this appearance. This type of stability was required due to the difficult nature of RC control in the late 1930s. The kit features die-cut balsa and plywood, metal hardware, cut out windshield, full size plans, formed landing gear and covering material. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions/plans present. Berkeley is a very famous manufacturer of flying model kits from the Golden Age of flying aviation, about 1932-1954. Founded in 1933 by William Effinger, the company was quite progressive in producing quality kits - it was likely the Berkeley 'Buccaneer' was the first gas powered model in kit form. In the later 1930s, Effinger acquired the services of a very talented Henry Struck. Struck went on to design numerous award-winning kits under the Berkeley name. Berkeley weathered the post WWII recession and emerged as a major kit producer in the late 1940 and 1950s. These were great years for Berkeley and they produced some incredible and large kits. The company went bankrupt in about 1960 however. Fox engines (Duke Fox) bought the company and released the kits alongside his own FOX models and engines. This arrangement did not last, and in the early 1960s the Berkeley name disappeared from hobby shop shelves.

Excellent kit with plastic one-piece hull and deck, extensive brass and plastic small fittings, wood stock where required, highly detailed instructions and decals. The kit has never been started. The small parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags and plastic fittings containers. The US Coast Guard 44 Foot MLB is a high endurance boat designed to perform search and rescue missions in very adverse weather and sea states. It is self-bailing and self-righting. Built for the USCG by the Coast Guard Yark in Curtis Bay, MD, the first 44 footer was put into service in 1961. The design was so successful that 110 were built and only one has ever been taken out of service - a testimony to the durability of the design and construction methods. Four MLBs were sold to foreign governments for search and rescue.
