Comet P-51D Mustang Struct-O-Speed Flying Model, F11

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$26

From the early 1950s. Comet advertises that the Struct-O-Speed series 'Puts Itself Together...That Quick!' on the box top. These kits were very highly prefabricated for their time, and in comparison to the regular stick and tissue models, the claim is not unfounded. Features three sheets of die-cut balsa wood main parts, 13 inch wingspan, finished wooden wheels, rubber motor, plastic prop and bushing (although the instructions show a balsa prop),paper insignia and full plans/instructions. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and excellent plans. Die-cut wooden parts have not been punched out and are intact in the sheets.

Sterling Cessna 180 Seeds Clouds In Flight - 17 inch Wingspan Free Flight / Control Line, A11

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$69

17 inch wingspan kit for rubber free flight or control line. Includes innovative system for 'seeding clouds' in flight. Includes quality die-cut balsa sheet parts, strip wood and spars, light plastic full engine cowl, die-cut clear windscreen, fully formed wire landing gear struts, finished wheels, rubber motor and plastic prop, covering tissue, a big sheet of superb, full color decal and full size plans with excellent instructions. The kit has never been started. The small parts are still in the factory sealed wax paper bag, and the parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits compared to other manufacturers.

Aurora Bomarc Missile IM-99 with Launcher, 1/48, 377-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$385

The box has four solid corners, very good color and gloss but significant shelf wear as shown. The missile is molded in gloss white and the launcher in gloss silver. Aurora Russian Mig-19, 1/48, 66-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc-

$175

Still factory sealed but the seal has shrunk and drawn the box top slightly concave. Very rare and especially in sealed condition. The seal is completely intact with no splits. Jo Kotula painted this amazing box art for the 1958 issue. Although this box has a 1958 copyright date, this issue is actually later, from the mid 1960s. Judging from the '100' price extension, this is close to or the final issue of this kit by Aurora.

Aurora Boeing B-29 Superfortress, 1/76, 372-249

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+

$169

Still factory sealed. Rare and even rarer in this condition. Aurora USA issue retains the same artwork as the 1956 issue. From the logo style, this example dates from about 1965, although the copyright date for the artwork still says 1956. This kit has arguably the most dramatic and fanciful B-29 composition from the 'Golden Era' of modeling box art. Note the square 'Northern Lights' logo has been replaced with the Aurora sunburst oval logo. There are no seal splits, fading or stains, tape or price tags, but there is very light crease at top center. Responding to market information that boys wanted larger kits, Aurora introduced the B-26 followed by the B-29 and B-25, all of which sold well for many years, almost right up until the end.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$32

Late 1950s or very early 1960s hardbox issue with great Bill Campbell artwork. Like most all Hawk kits, it has very good fit and finish, recessed panel lines, fine raised rivets and good detail. Molded in silver and clear and includes a display stand. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The XF-92 was Convair's first delta wing aircraft and the grandfather of the F-102 and F-106.

Doyusha U-Boat German Submarine - Motorized, 1/270, U-200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$42

Older kit that is designed to operate in water. Measures 10 inches long when assembled. Features a metal weight to achieve neutral buoyancy, movable diving planes and a rubber band motor with winding handle. The kit is molded in dark blue (above the waterline) and dark red (below the waterline). The kit has never been started. Inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. No decals are shown on the instructions, so I believe that Doyusha did not issue this kit with decals. Please note that there is a small piece (2.5cm x .5cm approx) broke from the hull side; that piece is includes and is an easy fix.
