Revell Lockheed F-94 Starfire 1st Issue - Pre 'S' One Piece Box, 1/56, H201-59

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$295

One of the first three Revell aircraft molds issued in 1953. This kit is correct with no rivets and no landing gear. Instructions are printed on the back of the box. Complete with the unique stand that was only issued with these three kits and the gift set of these kits. This box is in excellent condition, complete with all end flaps and has not been crushed - usually these thin one-piece boxes are in very bad condition. Box has never been repaired. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts/decals and instructions present. Please note that this kit is different from the 'Pre-S' issue in the following ways: no rivet detail, almost no panel lines, different part numbers, pilots are a part of the fuselage (busts only), one piece wings and absence of the pods at the half-wingspan line, no landing gear and no holes for such, very early 'Colortone' logo decals and a silver, two piece plastic stand of a unique design that was not used again.

Hasegawa Sopwith Camel Museum Model - (F.1 Camel), 1/8, CP-02

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+++

$900

This kit was factory sealed until very recently; due to age, the seal deteriorated. Very rare and large 1/8 scale museum quality kit. The three 1/8 aircraft in this series are widely considered to be the finest model aircraft ever produced. This kit duplicates the classic Sopwith Camel using many of the original material in a near perfect representation of the inner structure of the aircraft. There are 1,198 parts made from die-cut plywood, Japanese cypress, cast soft metal, brass, aluminum, rubber, injection molded plastic and many other materials. The wingspan is 1067mm (42 inches) when assembled. The engineering of the kit is world-class right down to the assembly plans. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions and plans. Please note, this item must be shipped insured.

Revell Convair Atlas - America's First Interncontinental Ballistic Missile - 'S' Issue, 1/110, H1822-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$485

Dated 1958. Very rare ICBM and the first and only issue of this Revell 'S' kit representing the Atlas in ICBM configuration. Reissues are impossible because the the molds were altered to make the Mercury Atlas kit. Very highly detailed and molded in correct white, gray and bright yellow plastic. Features elevating missile support arms and hinged break-away supports, complete launching base, ramp and pad, missile truck and trailer that elevates 90 degrees to load missile and crew. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: one part (a tiny ladder) is silver and it should be white. It is from this kit but a later issue. The decals are in exceptional 'near mint' condition with the slightest yellowing as the only flaw. The instructions are also 'near mint' with typical yellowing. The box has great color and gloss, four solid & original corners, no repairs and no fading. However, it is only graded 'very good+' because there is corner wear, edge wear and other general moderate to light wear as shown. Shipping insurance is required for this kit. This model has a great history. Fresh on the heels of the initial "Missile Boom" in model kit sales, Revell quickly planned a large series of missile kits. In order to make them more interesting, any accessories that could be included were such as launchers, transports, cranes and crew. Spurred on by early success, Revell decided to create an expensive missile model by adding all the trimmings - a complete base with support equipment. The result was the Convair Atlas ICBM, which sold for the almost unheard of price of $1.98 in 1958. However, the missile kit sales bubble exploded almost right at that moment and inventory turnover dropped to almost zero just as fast. The Atlas and most other Revell, Aurora and Monogram missiles were dropped from the line up. The high price and nearly non-existent sales ensured the rarity of this kit, but there was more to come. For a long time, it looked like Revell had wasted a small fortune on this kit. But in a few short years the Atlas would carry the Mercury Capsule into space. Revell would dust off the molds, cut in the correct changes and issue a new kit, the Mercury Atlas "Everything Is Go!" model. This model was a success for many years but the mold modifications made any reissue of the original Atlas ICBM impossible.

Revell Jupiter C - With Working Gantry / Elevator / Explorer Satellite and Crew - 'S' Issue, 1/100, H1819-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc-

$285

1958 first issue hardbox featuring some of my favorite 'S' box artwork. Correct, original release molded in three colors. Not the modern reproduction. The box is in 'excellent-' condition with great color and gloss. There are no price tags, no tag marks, no litho tear or missing litho, no fading, four solid original corners, no stains and no tape other than the factory tape. Flaws include moderate edge wear, corner wear and light but even general wear. Loaded with working features typical of kits at the time. The entire gantry tower folds back and moves on railroad base, the elevator moves to the four different work platforms and the Explorer Satellite can be removed from the Jupiter rocket. Includes crew of 7. Inside, the kit has never been started. Parts are molded in red, medium gray and white. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts but NOTE: (2) part #67 supports are broke; the broken parts (one each) are present and fit back perfectly. One #64 ladder guard (a small "U" shaped part) is red when it should be white plastic. The decals are in amazing 'near mint' condition with slight yellowing as the only flaw. The instructions are also in 'near mint' condition.
