From 1956 and the rare first issue of this classic kit. Please note the early rectangular logo "Aurora Line" logo. It is molded in silver and clear plastic and includes the correct early rectangular clear base Aurora stand, the correct instructions showing this base, and the correct early Tatem decals which Aurora issued without a stand decal. (Aurora included stand decals with the introduction of the triangular 'world' base style clear stand.) Molded in silver and clear plastic. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the box displays better than the 'good+' grade but is rated as such because moderate impact damage to the right short side.

The usual price extensions on the part number are also factory-blacked out. This is the 1972 issue with revised molds which makes it a better kit that the previous releases. Features 'good' cockpit detail, twin Spandau machine guns, full Mercedes engine, pilot and mechanic, Battle Terrain Base (a large vacuformed display base for the aircraft) and more. Rare model from 1946 for the advanced Hawk collector. Hawk was one of the few manufacturers making wooden kits to a constant scale of 1/48. However, the company was innovative as it quickly included injection molded accessories. This model features profile (2D) cut wooden fuselage, wings and tail feathers, injection molded wheels, propeller & machine gun, wooden stock as needed, metal seat, full color decals and high quality, full-size plans that include a markings guide for various dates, detailed rigging diagrams, templates, exploded parts diagram, aircraft history and more. Never started and complete. The decals are intact but have typical age cracking.

However, the company was innovative as it quickly included injection molded accessories. This kit dates from 1946 and contains profile precarved fuselage, wings and tails, injection molded wheels, propeller, & machine guns, wooden stock as needed, metal seat, sandpaper and full size well-detailed plans that include numerous templates, detail drawings, full rigging information, a photo of the completed model and more. For the advanced collector of early US models and Hawk kits. Hawk was one of the few manufacturers making wooden kits to a constant scale of 1/48 in the 1930s. Hawk kits were very complete and included metal details and superb quality drawings for the true scale enthusiast. This kit dates from 1944 and quite deluxe for the time. The side of the box mentions the railroad and ship Hawk kits and gives a rare look at the product line. The model contains 3D precarved wooden main fuselage, 2D wings and tails, fully finished propeller & wooden wheels, wooden stock as needed, full color decal sheet, heavy cardboard die-cut template sheet, sandpaper, special metal aircraft stand and full size, full-color well-detailed plans as well as an additional instructions sheet on how an aircraft works. The model has not been started and is complete.

For the advanced model collector and from 1940. Hawk was one of the few manufacturers making wooden kits to a constant scale of 1/48 in the 1930s. Hawk kits were considered high quality and very complete for that time and often included metal or plastic details. very complete and included metal details and superb quality drawings for the true scale enthusiast. The side of this box shows photos of 4 other built-up Hawk aircraft kits and gives a rare look at the product line. The model features a 3D (three axis) cut fuselage, 2-D cut wings and tails, turned and completely finished hardwood spinner & wheels, fully finished propeller, sandpaper, wooden stock as needed, complete insignia sheet and excellent, well-detailed plans that include many templates and painting instructions. There is even another large fold-out instruction sheet with heavily illustrated text instructions for how to carve and build a solid scale model aircraft. Even the original Hawk factory packing tissue is present. The model has not been started and is 100% complete with all parts and paperwork. Please note that this kit is simply called the "Heinkel Fighter." From what what can tell, this is a He-112B, with the three-piece bubble canopy and probably the V-10 with the big undernose radiator scoop.

Hawk Nieuport 17 - Flip-Top Box Issue, 1/48, 706

First issue from the early 1950s in the one-piece box. Molded in high gloss yellow and brown. The model has not been started. Complete with instructions, decals and all parts. The earliest issues of this kit did not have decals; this one does. That dates is as late in the first release. In the 1920s through the 1940s Hawk made constant scale 1/48 aircraft kits from wood. In 1946 they added plastic injection molded kits to the line and were possibly the first injection molded kit manufacturer in the USA. When Hawk made an early jump to all-plastic kits they kept the 1/48 scale and created these new one-piece boxes with two color artwork. NOTE: The box is complete but has numerous tears, tape marks, tape stains etc as shown.

Very Rare. Early, colorful issue from the late 1950s. The kit is dated by the 'Sanwa Plastic' logo, which was normally used in the late 1950s up to 1960. Very nicely detailed for that time with fine surface detail, optional 'closed' or 'open' rear dual cargo doors, moving ailerons, rotating props, optional opened or closed crew boarding stairs/door and colorful decals. Molded in gloss silver, black and clear. includes factory glue tube. Inside, the model is factory new - all the parts and decals are still in the factory sealed clear bags. The decals are flat and 'excellent' with slight yellowing as the only flaw and the instructions in 'near mint' condition. Sanwa was one of Japan's earliest post-WWII kit producers, making model kits in the 1950s; some sources say 1955. Kits were marketed under Sanwa and Tokyo Plamo, with the general consensus being the the later logo came out around 1960 or later. Production ended in 1964, making all Sanwa kits rare and collectible. The entire line was extensive. It included very small scale tanks (some that were motorized), battleships in three scales with the larger ones motorized with dual prop drive, slot cars, civil sport boats and an electric outboard, a full line of hand gun models that actually shot plastic bullets, two fighter groups and bomber groups (probably Monogram), several different lines of scale aircraft, missile kits, scale (static) car models of early Japanese automobiles, at least 7 flying model aircraft that had electric and rubber motors, a 'Super Control Stand' P-51 that moved with a joystick and had an electric propeller and sound unit, two different lighthouses and a windmill, an air cushion boat, motor cycles, a diving submarine (electric) and a working (rubber band) George Washington Class SSBN and even a garden tractor with an electric motor.
