Still factory sealed and in amazing investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. Dated 1963 but is actually a mid 60s issue due to the lack of 'Famous Fighters' in the border of the box side logos. This is just one of the many incredibly successful 1/48 scale WWI aircraft kits from Aurora. A few years after settling into the new plant at West Hempstead, one of the the major projects was to launch this line in 1956. New subjects were added as late as the early 1960s. The line was so successful that many were selling right up until the end of Aurora in 1976.

Rare 'Deluxe' issue from 1942 for the advanced collector. Hawk was one of the few manufacturers making wooden kits to a constant scale of 1/48. However, the company was innovative as it quickly included injection molded accessories. This model features 3D (three-axis) cut fuselage, profile (2D) cut wings and tail feathers, turned and finished hardwood engine cowl, plastic three blade propeller with the correct large spinner, fully finished wooden wheels, die-cut heavy cardstock template sheet for the fuselage and wings, sandpaper, a very nice metal display stand, complete insignia sheet, and an amazing full-color plan. All three views are in full color and this acts as a painting guide. The plans are in 'Excellent++' condition. Even includes the original factory packing tissue paper. Never started and complete.

Original issue hardbox; not a common reissue. In 1962, Bill Campbell thought that kids may be tired of the same old modeling subjects, and he created the Weird-Ohs. Of course it was not that simple - it never is. Please read Bill's own account of the Weird-Ohs, located on this website. Regardless of the path, the Weird-Ohs became an overnight sensation that helped launch the 'monster' and the 'figure' phase of modeling. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions.

Rare issue from the 1950s from the 'Picture Gallery' series. Includes the correctly early decals and the green tinted canopy. Bill Campbell explained to me that the artist producing the Picture Gallery series artwork had a heart attack and could not finish the assignment. Hawk had to switch artist in a hurry, and that is how Bill found his way to Hawk. Bill did the art from that point forward, making the limited issue PG boxes very desirable for collectors. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the instruction sheet is a quality photocopy of the original. NOTE: the box is only graded 'good' because there is significant bug damage on the side panels. The bugs ate away some of the litho but left the heavy cardboard behind it.

Hawk was one of the few manufacturers making wooden kits to a constant scale of 1/48 in the 1930s. Hawk kits were very complete and included plastic or metal details and superb quality drawings for the true scale enthusiast.

From the 1970s and very well detailed with 137 parts. Includes metal body, chassis, hood, engine and other detail parts with injection molded details, clear parts, and a large tree of chrome plated parts. Features a full rolling chassis just like the real car with excellent engine detail, complete exhaust and suspension, working steering, removable hood, flexible radiator hoses, rubber tires, chrome spoke wheels and working worm-gear steering. Has full interior detail with thin clear windshields and special interior side panels. NOTE: this kit has very minor and neat assembly as noted: engine halves, head and one small engine chrome piece are assembled to 'professional' quality. Also, the steering box cover is painted black. There is no other assembly or painting; however, one screw is broken off in the rear differential (where a suspension spring is attached; I would either drill it out or simply epoxy the spring to the differential). The model has been inventoried complete including decals, special interior side panel 'upholstery' and instructions. In the 1930s Packard was the style leader in America and a beautiful, fast status symbol. Packards were not the most expensive, but were the most desired cars. The 1930s Packards are seen as the high point of the brand.

The Convair VTO was a Navy program for a high performance zero-length take off fighter. The aircraft flew well but transition from vertical/horizontal and back was tricky. This, combined with the performance of the new jets signaled the end of the program in 1955.
