Graupner Neptun Freighter Motorship - With Optional Fittings Set #498 - 33.7 Inch Long R/C Ship Model, 2144

Wood and Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

Very rare. Even harder to find with the optional Graupner #498 Optional Fittings Set. This is a large and nicely detailed model designed for R/C and you can build it one of two ways: 'Midship Bridge' (as shown on the box) or "Aft Bridge.' She measures 857mm long and has a beam of 142mm. It features completely formed ABS plastic one-piece hull, plastic superstructures, funnel, rudder, life boat and davits, cranes, outrigger and mast, die cut plywood decks and other wooden parts, propeller and shaft, extensive decals, kit fittings, instructions, plans and more. The actual kit has never been started. The parts that the factory sealed are still factory sealed; all other parts have been inventoried complete. The Fittings Set #498 has never been used and has been inventoried complete with all parts and instructions.

Monogram Phantom Huey UH-1B Chopper Motorized with Sound Factory Sealed, 1/24, PA226

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

VERY rare in this condition - still factory sealed. Like the first issue B-52, Monogram sealed the Phantom Huey in a unique way. There was never an external seal around the box top. The potential customer could lift off the box top, and the lower tray was completely sealed in clear cellophane so the parts and layout could be observed. This was a great way to make a potential customer into a paying one. The cello seal is still 100% intact with no cuts or splits. This is the first issue of this model, dated 1969. Large and completely transparent with a 20 inch long fuselage and nearly 2 foot rotor diameter. Well detailed with 184 parts and structural members and full internal detail. Features complete cockpit, pilot and co-pilot figures, full cabin, opening cabin door, inner fuselage framing, detailed engine and more. In the display base with the batteries is an electric motor which turns the main and tail rotors while the sound unit makes "chop-chop" sound that varies correctly with main rotor speed. To minimize painting, the kit is molded in clear, zinc chromate green, black, chrome plate, gray, olive drab and flexible black/gray ammo belts. The clear fuselage halves have no breaks or cracks, they are mint. The Phantom Huey box top was notoriously thin and damaged easily. This one has the typical wear but amazingly has four solid original corners, no holes and is 100% intact. Other than the wear and moving sticker, the other flaws are on the box sides, thankfully. There were two closed tears on the side panels which I have repaired correctly from the inside with book binding glue. A long time ago there was tape on the very bottom of both long sides; it is gone, but you can see the brown residue from it for about 7" x 1" on the lowest edge. NOTE: this kit must be shipped fully insured.

Revell XSL-01 Manned Space Ship - 'S' Issue, 1/96, H1800-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

One of the 'Holy Grail' of 1950s Space Kits. 1957 first and only issue 'S' kit with the fantastic box art. Molds reportedly damaged beyond use, which makes reissues impossible. The spaceship was designed by the rocket scientist Ellwyn E. Angle of Systems Laboratories Inc. Features detailed manned top stage with full interior, removable top, opening hatch, spaceship and ground crew members and detailed working launch pad. The main stages and boosters snap apart to recreate all phases of the flight from Earth takeoff, Lunar Landing and Return to Earth. The included 'XSL-01 Operations Manual' outlines in words and illustrations each phase of the spaceship's trip. Molded in the correct gloss orange, silver, gloss metallic blue and clear. Never started. All internal factory cardboard presentation material is present and excellent. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Instructions and booklet are 'excellent' with typical yellowing as the only flaw. Decals are 'excellent' and flat with light yellowing. Box is graded 'very good' and displays well. Color and gloss are excellent. There is no fading or stains, and no price tags or tag marks. There is no tape or tape marks beyond the original factory sealing tape. Flaws include two perfectly repaired corners (all done correctly from the inside), light creasing as shown on the right center box top and creasing on the left long side. Shipping insurance is required on this kit.

Revell Lockheed F-94 Starfire 1st Issue - Pre 'S' One Piece Box, 1/56, H201-59

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

One of the first three Revell aircraft molds issued in 1953. This kit is correct with no rivets and no landing gear. Instructions are printed on the back of the box. Complete with the unique stand that was only issued with these three kits and the gift set of these kits. This box is in excellent condition, complete with all end flaps and has not been crushed - usually these thin one-piece boxes are in very bad condition. Box has never been repaired. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts/decals and instructions present. Please note that this kit is different from the 'Pre-S' issue in the following ways: no rivet detail, almost no panel lines, different part numbers, pilots are a part of the fuselage (busts only), one piece wings and absence of the pods at the half-wingspan line, no landing gear and no holes for such, very early 'Colortone' logo decals and a silver, two piece plastic stand of a unique design that was not used again.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

Original issue 1958 'S' kit in excellent condition. The colors and gloss as are new. The box has four solid corners and had never been repaired. Light, general wear is the only flaw. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts/decals and instructions present.

Revell Convair Atlas America's First Interncontinental Ballistic Missile - 'S' Issue, 1/110, H1822-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Dated 1958. Very rare ICBM and the first and only issue of this Revell 'S' kit representing the Atlas in ICBM configuration. Reissues are impossible because the the molds were altered to make the Mercury Atlas kit. Very highly detailed molded in correct white, gray and bright yellow. Features elevating missile support arms and hinged break-away supports, complete launching base, ramp and pad, missile truck and trailer that elevates 90 degrees to load missile and crew. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The decals are in exceptional 'near mint' condition with the slightest yellowing as the only flaw. The instructions are also 'near mint' and not even yellowed. The box has great color and gloss, four solid corners, four solid & original corners, no repairs and no fading. However, it is only graded 'very good' because there is corner wear, edge wear and other general moderate to light wear as shown. All four side panels display like the box top does. Shipping insurance is required for this kit. This model has a great history. Fresh on the heels of the initial "Missile Boom" in model kit sales, Revell quickly planned a large series of missile kits. In order to make them more interesting, any accessories that could be included were such as launchers, transports, cranes and crew. Spurred on by early success, Revell decided to create an expensive missile model by adding all the trimmings - a complete base with support equipment. The result was the Convair Atlas ICMB, which sold for the almost unheard of price of $1.98 in 1958. However, the missile kit sales bubble exploded almost right at that moment and inventory turnover dropped to almost zero just as fast. The Atlas and most other Revell, Aurora and Monogram missiles were dropped from the line up. The high price and nearly non-existent sales ensured the rarity of this kit, but there was more to come. For a long time, it looked like Revell had wasted a small fortune on this kit. But in a few short years the Atlas would carry the Mercury Capsule into space. Revell would dust off the molds, cut in the correct changes and issue a new kit, the Mercury Atlas "Everything Is Go!" model. This model was a success for many years but the mold modifications made any reissue of the original Atlas ICBM impossible.

Revell Tactical Missiles Dart and Little John, 1/40, H547-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

Hard-to-find model in investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. This is the rarer final issue from 1963 and not the "S" issue. For this release, the original box art was retained and the part number and name were changed, while the side panels show Revell's then-new series of 1/72 scale WWII aircraft. Note that the this kit is called 'Tactical Rockets' instead of the original 'Tactical Missiles'. These models are well detailed. The Dart includes four missiles, one launcher, three stands, decals, one optical guidance unit and a crew of three. The Little John includes a detailed launcher with elevating rails, movable support legs, decals and crew of three. Molded in dark olive drab and white plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Little John was a light-weight free-flight rocket that was highly mobile. It could be pulled on it's launcher or transported by helicopter. Length was 12 feet long and the warhead was atomic. The Dart was a very early 5-foot long wire guided anti-tank missile with a solid propellant rocket motor. An optical rangefinder was used for guidance.
