Revell Tactical Missiles Dart and Little John, 1/40, H547-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$145

Hard-to-find model in investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. This is the rarer final issue from 1963 and not the "S" issue. For this release, the original box art was retained and the part number and name were changed, while the side panels show Revell's then-new series of 1/72 scale WWII aircraft. Note that the this kit is called 'Tactical Rockets' instead of the original 'Tactical Missiles'. These models are well detailed. The Dart includes four missiles, one launcher, three stands, decals, one optical guidance unit and a crew of three. The Little John includes a detailed launcher with elevating rails, movable support legs, decals and crew of three. Molded in dark olive drab and white plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Little John was a light-weight free-flight rocket that was highly mobile. It could be pulled on it's launcher or transported by helicopter. Length was 12 feet long and the warhead was atomic. The Dart was a very early 5-foot long wire guided anti-tank missile with a solid propellant rocket motor. An optical rangefinder was used for guidance.

Inside, the kit is exactly as it left the factory and never started. All internal blue display cardboard packing is in 'near mint' condition. Revell Atomic Space Explorer Solaris - (Helios), 1/156, H1851-200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$375

Very rare 1968 reissue of the Helios "S" kit from 1959. The Helios was a 'near future' space model of a proposed nuclear powered lunar landing craft from 1959. The model was designed by Krafft A. Ehricke of Convair Astronautics Division, who also designed the Revell Space Shuttlecraft and some of the famous Strombecker Space kits. All phases of the flight can be recreated with the model; twisting the nose cone actually lowers the landing gear and power cables. Includes retractable landing gear, movable control surfaces, removable control capsule on first stage, gondola power cables that reel in and out, detailed living quarters with removable viewing panel, launch platform and 5 crew. Correctly molded in three colors: silver, dark blue and white. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The decals are in amazing 'mint' condition and the instructions are 'near mint.' The box has perfect color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs, no tape or price tags, no tears or rips and no fading or stains. There is a light ding at the top center as shown and very light wear.

Topping Douglas F5D Skylancer - Factory Desktop Model In The Original Topping Box

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$365

Incredibly rare, 1950s NOS Topping F5D Skylancer model untouched in the original factory box. The buyer will be the first one to ever remove it from the box. Inside, all of the factory cardboard and tissue are still intact. The stand and aircraft were never displayed or used - I believe they were never even removed from the box. While never used, please note that these models never left the factory in 'flawless' condition. There were always minor paint flaws and minor molding flaws as they were mass-produced. Furthermore, the canopy, white plastic and decals inevitably have some yellowing, although this example is minimal. If there is any yellowing or age marks (usually brown mildew on the plastic), you can very easily remove this with Novus #2 Fine Scratch Remover. I have found it perfect for both cleaing and bringing back Topping plastic and decals back to super condition. Because the original Topping box adds significantly to the value, it will be carefully packed into another box for shipping. Shipping insurance is required.

Comet North American NA-35 (Vega 35) - 17 1/8 inch Wingspan For Free Flight, 3301

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+

$42

Still factory sealed. Dated 1963 on the plans but this issue is from the early to mid 1970s. Stick and tissue kit can be powered by rubber or electric, or built for static display. Kit features traditional construction techniques with quality, die-cut balsa sheet parts, stripwood, fully formed wheels, spars and wood stock as required, fully formed wire landing gear, rubber motor, plastic prop, wood thrust button, clear material for windscreens, insignia, covering tissue and detailed, full-size plans and building instructions. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Aurora Boeing B-52 Stratofortress - (ex Comet), 1/317, 2494-60

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

$129

Very rare issue dated 1964. This is the seldom seen Aurora reissue of the Comet kit for the Canadian market only. Several small-scale Comet molds were never reissued for the USA market and for decades I have wondered what happened to them. Aurora had no need for them, as they had already cut their own (superior) small-scale molds for most of those subjects, including the B-52 and B-47. Well, the ex-Comet molds went to Aurora Canada! The small, less detailed Comet kits were issued there using the same box art as their slightly larger and more detailed Aurora counterparts in the USA. Simply looking at the box top, you could not tell the difference. However, the four digit part number gives it away as do the contents. Molded in silver and clear and still retains the original Comet 'teardrop' shaped two-piece stand. Naturally the instructions are completely unique since this is a different kit from the Aurora USA B-52. This kit is 100% correct and has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Veeday Yakovlev Yak-15 - Sample Release, 1/72, 002

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$22

Rare injection molded, limited run model. Veeday was a British company that produced some of the earliest 'short run' injection molded kits. Production lasted from 1978 to 1982. In all, 16 kits were issued if you count the Cierva C30 RAF and the C30 civil issue as two kits. Less than 1000 of each kit was produced and all kits were boxed. Two bagged kits (Pfalz D.XII and Spitfire 24) were issued after Veeday ceased production by someone who purchased the left-over stock. This kit has never been started - all parts and decals are present. However, NOTE: the instructions are missing. That is probably why it is labeled a "Sample Only."
