Aurora Crown Logo Blue Knight of Milan 1520, 1/8, K2-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

$150

In the mid 1950s, Aurora bought three 'Knight' molds from Crown Plastics and issued them as K1, K2 and K3. These were the very first Aurora figure kits. The early Aurora 'Northern Lights' logo has the correct 'Crown Line' logo inside it. Inside, the kit is mint. The shiny, very dark blue plastic parts are complete and there is a red feather plume. The instructions are correct with the Crown logo in the Aurora logo.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+++

$125

First issue with great "S" artwork. Dated 1956. The box is in amazing condition with perfect color and gloss. The only thing keeping it from being 'mint' is light wear and prices on the short end panels. Features folding wings and tail, optional position landing gear and speed brakes, escape hatch, three crew figures and refueling probe. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts/decals and instructions present.

Airfix Sturmgeschutz GIII 75mm Assault Gun - Craftmaster Issue, 1/76, M1-50

Air Lines Fairey Gannet ASW - (ex-Frog), 1/72, 9804

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG-

$22

Nicely done early kit from Frog molds and marketed by Air Lines. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. NOTE: the arresting gear is the correct part for an Air Lines Gannet, but is from a different issue so it is a different color plastic. Air Lines manufacturing history: The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.

Aurora Martin B-26 Marauder, 1/46, 371-259

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$325

Very rare first issue from the early 1950s. When Aurora moved to the West Hempstead plant, they planned a series of very large scale bombers. All kits released up to this time had been small. Aurora's instincts were correct, and the B-26, B-25 and B-29 were a big sales success. This box art was done by Jim Cox and was only used for about one year, making it very rare. The kit has never been started and is inventoried 100% complete with the original tissue paper, all parts, large clear stand, instructions and decals. The box has very good color, four solid corners (no repairs), no fading, stains or tears and no price tags or tape (other than the factory sealing tape). It does have moderate general wear as shown, a small (3/4" x 3/8") price tag tear on the left short side, edge wear (more on the on the left than the right) and litho chips on the top long side along the edge.

Air Lines Fairey Gannet ASW - (ex-Frog), 1/72, 9804

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$24

Nicely done early kit from Frog molds and marketed by Air Lines. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. NOTE: the spinner is the correct part for an Air Lines Gannet, but is from a different issue so it is a different color plastic.

RPM PWS-16 bis, 1/72

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$22

Cleanly molded kit with very nice detail. Includes full cockpits, rigging diagrams and markings for two different aircraft. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag including decals and instructions.

Wen-Mac Northrop X-4 USAF, 1/50, 5501-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$165

Very rare. Wen-Mac was a famous manufacture of gas powered U-Control model aircraft. In 1955, they produced their one and only injection molded model kit, this Northrop X-4. The kit is a 'whip fly' model where the pilot controls the elevator (and thus the pitch of the aircraft) with the Jimmy Walker patented U-Control. The instructions are on the back, and the small crinkle bag is still present. Please note that Wen-Mac did not issue this kit with decals. Molded in the correct red plastic with additional metal parts. The kit has never been started. NOTE: missing small metal nut, easy purchased at any hardware store. Otherwise inventoried complete with all other parts.

Krugozor Yakovlev Yak-18 - Light Acrobatic Aircraft, 1/40

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed VG

$38

Still factory sealed. Classic Cold War kit in large 1/40 scale. I have listed this as a Krugozor ('Horizon') release as it has their logo and name on a short side and appears to be dated 1975, which would align with Krugozor production. Krugozor (or MFDI) took over Yunyj Tyechinik production in the mid 1970s and production continued till 1993. Yunyj Tyechinik orignally succeeded MZMPI, which was the first kit manufacture in the USSR.

Crescent Books Color Treasury of Model Soldiers, N335

Cardstock Paper Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed VG

$45

1972 collector's book in full color. 64 pages. Includes collectors notes and full history of the toy solider dating back to 2000 BC. The book is in excellent condition and the binding is very tight.

Aurora Curtiss Hawk P-6E, 1/43, 116-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Mint

$110

Still factory sealed. The kit is dated 1958, but this is obviously a later issue as the Aurora logo does not say 'Famous Fighters' in the border and has no sunburst. Due to the 100 price extension, it is most likely from 1960 or '61.

Pocher Alfa Romeo 8C-2300 Monza 1931, 1/8, K71

Multimedia Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+

$1200

This kit is still factory sealed in the clear cello wrap but the seal has splits. Pocher made the finest automobile models ever created. The detail and working parts on these long out-of-production, big 1/8 scale kits is amazing. This kit has 1954 parts of plastic, brass, steel, leather, iron, rubber, copper and many other material. Working features include operating steering, working suspension, lights that operate from the dashboard, doors that open and close with operating door latches and handles, starting handle that operates the crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, V-belts, Fan, dynamo and more in the engine and much more. Recommended for experienced modelers only. This is the desirable early version with the most realistic wheel construction. Each wheel is built just like a real spoke wheel with individual spokes and well over 100 parts each. Shipping insurance (and Express Mail for international customers) is required.

Hawk Nieuport 17 - Flip-Top Box Issue, 1/48, 706

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair+

$39

First issue from the early 1950s in the one-piece box. Molded in high gloss yellow and black. The model has not been started. Complete with instructions and all parts. This kit is from early in this first issue, and the first kits were not issued with decals. In the 1920s through the 1940s Hawk made constant scale 1/48 aircraft kits from wood. In 1946 they added plastic injection molded kits to the line and were possibly the first injection molded kit manufacturer in the USA. When Hawk made an early jump to all-plastic kits they kept the 1/48 scale and created these new one-piece boxes with two color artwork.

ITC Spirit of St. Louis and Wright Brothers Flyer I, 1/110, C-513-50

$18

Ringo issue - contains both kits. Very nicely molded for small scale models. These were originally ITC models. Ringo was the name ITC used to clear the warehouse of plastic kits. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag including instructions. Ringo did not put decals with the vast majority of kits.

StromBecker American Airlines Convair Flagship, C-38

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Near Mint

$149

From the 1950s and with a 10 inch wingspan. This kit and box are in rare, investment-grade 'near mint' condition. Highly prefabricated kit made from solid western pine - not balsa wood. Makes a very impressive display model when built. Includes precut and shaped fuselage, wings, elevators, rudder and nacelles, a bag of detail parts including propellers, wheels, etc, wood filler and glue, sandpaper, detailed instructions and drawings with aircraft history and a large, colorful American Airlines decal sheet. Never started. 100% complete with all parts and plans. Before plastic kits were introduced, Strombecker was famous as the premier hardwood preshaped model manufacturer. In the 1940s and 1950s, Strombecker kits were flawlessly engineered but not inexpensive. All wooden parts are hardwood and are precarved to shape - usually only a quick sanding would finish them.
