Rare limited issue. Hardbox is dated 1965 and is in rare 'excellent+' condition. This model was issued as a tie-in promotion with the famous TV show "12 O'Clock High," which centered on the exploits of USAAF B-17s flying over Hitler's Germany. The box top has great color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs, no price tags or tape (or marks from either). Flaws include very light general wear and a very light and very limited age spotting on two of the sides. It is very difficult to see and you must be looking for it. The model features detailed engine with removable cowling, good cockpit, retractable landing gear and more. Molded in gloss olive drab and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Other kits in this rare series include the B-17 Bomber Formation (3 kits with a special stand and battle-damaged decals), P-38 Lighting, ME-109 (Bf-109), P-47, B-25, B-26 and Fw-190.

Very Rare limited issue hardbox dated 1965. Issued as a promotion with the famous TV show "12 O'Clock High," which centered on the exploits of USAAF B-17s flying over Hitler's Germany. Molded in black and clear plastic, with the clear triangle-based stand. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please note that the decals are in amazing 'excellent++' condition. They are almost fully flat and have almost no age yellowing. Instructions are 'excellent' and have very light wear and the typical age yellowing. The instructions are in remarkable 'near mint' condition. Amazingly, the decal sheet has swastikas. This is unusual because they were removed from the decal artwork may years before this. Other kits in this rare series include the B-17 Bomber Formation (3 kits with a special 'bombing' stand and battle-damaged decals), P-38 Lighting, ME-109 (Bf-109), P-51, B-26, B-25 and Fw-190.

1958 release of this kit featuring classic Jo Kotula boxart. The large 1/48 scale missile comes with a fully operational scale launcher. The hardbox has very good color and gloss, four solid corners, no price tag or tape tears and no torn or missing litho. Flaws include the scratch at the top and general wear and edge & corner wear as shown. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts. Includes decals and instructions in 'very good+' condition. This kit must be shipped insured. The Aurora "Missile Line" is legendary. In the late 1950s, the first missile model kits sold briskly, so Aurora and Revell both planned extensive lines. However, the missile modeling craze disappeared as quickly as it started. Models that were in the works were canceled or completed if they were far enough along. Those that were completed were fine efforts but sold poorly and had very short lives, making them rare collector items today.

Very rare 1958 high-quality model and the original issue from Adams. Features working bogies, flexible tracks, crew of two, four soldiers and more. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The box displays better than the 'very good+' grade but is rated as such because there is a small, narrow litho tear on the left short side. These molds must have had a very interesting history. The molds were cut in the late 1950s, either at Adams or by one of Revell's contractors. It appeared to be part of the Adams/Revell 1/40 line but only Adams issued the kit. UPC (Universal Power Master) had use of these molds in the 1960s are perhaps the early 1970s; however, the molds were probably in Japan as most if not all the UPC production occurred there. Around this point, SNAP plastics of Hillside, New Jersey acquired this kit along with many of the other ex-Adams military molds. While the UPC issues say 'Made in Japan' the SNAP issues say nothing of the origin of the manufacture; so perhaps they were made in New Jersey. Things get even more interesting with the Life-Like issue. How Life-Like came across the molds is unfortunately unknown but it may have been in a bulk-purchase of molds from SNAP since there were in the same general part of the country. This is simply conjecture, however.

Very rare, one and only issue dated 1960. When Monogram invested in the tooling for the 18 aircraft "Air Power" set, the sales did not meet expectations. In order to increase revenue from the molds, Monogram issued three separate kits- the "Refueling Group," "Bomber Group" and "Fighter Group" in the "Forty Niner" series with the Tu-16 Badger, F-101 and P-40. These kits utilized aircraft from the Air Power set with special blue-molded display stands, unique decals and instructions. The two aircraft are well molded with recessed panel line detail. Decals are in amazing 'near mint' condition and the instructions in 'near mint+' condition. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. This is a Frog 'Red Series' issue with very colorful box artwork. It is finely molded in medium gray and features separately molded ailerons, elevators and rudder. This kit has never been started. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The box would rate higher than 'very good' but has short pieces of masking tape on the lower part of three sides. Frog is considered the father of injection molded model kits. The Lines Brothers opened Frog in 1932, capitalizing on the fever caused by Lindberg's solo transatlantic flight. Almost overnight the western populations became 'Air-Minded', and anything aviation was in high demand. Frog created a quality line of stick and tissue rubber powered aircraft and gliders as well as innovative ready-to-fly rubber powered aircraft that required no assembly. The box even contained a built-in rubber motor winder and fuselage holder. Model airplane flight competitions were popular in Great Britain, and one category was 'Rise Off the Ground', or ROG. By changing this to 'Flies Right Off the Ground', the FROG name was born. In 1936 Frog created a line of injection molded plastic models, the first such kit line in the world (Hawk sold a line of injection molded aircraft models in 1934 but they were factory assembled and painted). Named 'Penguin' after the bird that does not fly, the kits were innovative beyond the means of production. At a time when models were simply built by wingspan, the Penguin line was a constant 1/72 scale. Furthermore, a large 1/72 Short S.30 Empire class flying boat contained a full interior and lights! A line of accessories such as AA guns, tractors, hanger, ambulance, sound locator, searchlights and lighting kits were quickly added to the line. WWII caused a pause in production. After the war the box color changed from silver to green, and Penguin kits were also marketed in the USA. Production ended in 1950. Frog quickly expanded and released the Red, Blue, Orange, Black, Green, Gold Token, Spin and Comet series as well as Trail Blazers and several others. It is noteworthy that while most manufacturers in the 1940s/50 were making toy-like models, Frog attempted to make very realistic models. For example, 'detailing' kits with excessively large rivets was once very popular. Frog ignored this trend and continued to mold aircraft with fine panel lines and no rivets. As a result, Frog kits can be built into very realistic replicas. Production ended in the late 1970s, but Frog molds are still in use around the world.
