Very rare side-wheels from original quality Heller molds. Well detailed with over 400 parts. Large scale, full hull kit includes complete deck fittings, ratline jig, vacuform sails, full rigging diagram and more. NOTE: this kit has minor assembly. The display stand is built and the hull (3 parts) is assembled, all to 'professional' quality. There is no other assembly and zero painting. Revell Clipper Stag Hound Clipper - The Largest Merchant Ship of Her Day, 1/216, H345-300

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Sold

From 1966. Very nicely detailed like all early Revell sailing ships. Full hull kit with premolded ratlines, optional sails and full rigging instructions. Molded in three colors. NOTE: this kit has minor and neat assembly to 2 parts. The hull halves have been professionally assembled. There are no gaps and the seams have been carefully eliminated. The deck fits 'excellent++' into the hull. The hull detail was sanded down to a more realistic level and is free of scratch marks and ready to paint. There is no other assembly. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Stag Hound was designed by the famous Donald McKay and was launched on December 7, 1850. She is famous for her great speed and turned a nice profit for her owners. The most notable event was when the Stag Hound was asked to take a copy of President Lincoln's inaugural address to London. During this run, she raced the steamer 'America' and won easily. Shortly after this she was lost off Brazil to a spontaneous combustion of her coal cargo. The crew successfully abandoned ship. The captain was the last to leave. He lowered the American Flag, wrapped it around himself and jumped overboard.

Jo-Han 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado Promo, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Amazing condition, true dealer promotional model with the original box. One owner and obtained new on November 10, 1965 from a Lexington, KY dealership by a discriminating collector. The model is in factory-new condition. It was never used, displayed or played with and the tires reflect that. Paint color and gloss are like new, as is the chrome, clear and tires. Complete with all parts. Although I can't imagine how it could be better, I'll grade it 9.8 out of 10 as nothing is every really 'perfect,' even from the factory. The box is 'good' and is stamped "OLDS. TORONADO 1966 COASTER FROST GREEN MET MIDNITE GREEN 5" on the end flap. There are no Jo-Han markings, but I have listed it as Jo-Han as a guess since they marketed the 66 Toronado as an assembly kit in this scale.

Comet Supermarine Spitfire II - 19.5 inch Wingspan Gas or Rubber Powered Wooden Aircraft Kit, 1620

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

From the mid 1970s. Large scale issue for rubber or gas free flight, or easily converted to RC using today's tiny and light servos and receivers. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.
