Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+

Sold

Still factory sealed and very rare. The H9A was a twin-engined, parasol-wing flying boat, designated by Aichi as design AM-21. It was designed in response to an IJN requirement for an advanced seaplane trainer for future crews of the Kawanishi H8K "Emily" flying boat. Design work started in January 1940 and the first of three prototypes was flown in September 1940. The aircraft had a normal crew of five (pilot, co-pilot, observer, flight engineer and a radio-operator) but seating was provided for an additional trainees. 28 total aircraft were assembled. Although a trainer, it was pressed into service in home duties starting in May 1942. The H9A1 was used for anti-submarine patrols in home waters, transport duties, paratroop training and general liaison. It was not known to the Allies until spring 1945, and subsequently never assigned an reporting code name.

I believe that the Matson Line Hawaiian Pilot originally started life as the Navy USS Burleigh C-3 Transport. After the was she became the Oceanic lines SS Sonoma (#2). On July 14, 1953, Hawaiian Pilot collided with SS Jacob Luckenbach (another C-3 freighter, ex-Sea Robin), off San Francisco. Luckenbach sank in 30 minutes; the crew was safely transferred to Hawaiian Pilot and there was no loss of life.

The only tape/tape marks are from the original factory sealing tape. Flaws included even, general wear as shown and the ding shown at the lower right right on the word 'AIR' in the Air Power booklet that Billy is dreaming about. The model contains 18 aircraft (102 parts total), all to a constant 1/240 scale. All aircraft have an in-flight configuration that is accurate down to the wing angle on the B-52. The only real flaws is micro-cracking on the red base decal. The instructions are 'very good++' and the Air Power book is 'excellent++.' NOTE: there is very minor assembly to one aircraft as follows: vertical stabilizer glued to the F-86. The assembly is to 'near mint+' quality. There is no other assembly. The canopy of the F-86 is painted black, as is the canopy and nose of the F-94 Starfire. There is no other painting. The flight wires are intact and never used. All the other parts were loose from the factory and have been inventoried complete. Includes all parts, base, decals, instructions and 24 page 'Air Power' booklet. Revell F-102A Delta Dagger With 14 Ground Accessories - 'S' Issue, 1/48, H282-298

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

Very rare first and only issue dated 1958. This version of Revell's large F-102 includes all the ground equipment and crew shown on the front cover. The F-102 aircraft features landing gear and flaps the retract and extend when canopy is opened and closed, removable rear section and detailed engine, engine, movable control surfaces, opening weapons bay with Falcon missiles and more. The ground equipment includes mobile staircase with work platform, tow tug with driver, 'Restricted Area' sign, trailer tongue, missile loading trailer, power cable trailer with reels, engine-hauling trailer, engine unloading trailer, three missile racks, kneeing mechanic figure and mechanic figure with clipboard. The F-102 is molded in silver and clear while the ground equipment is molded in bright yellow. There is currently no assembly but NOTE: at one time, two parts were assembled: the rear canopy was glued into the frame. However, it fell out. There is no glue on the areas of the canopy that show; there is only glue on the mating surfaces which do not show when assembled. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, both correct decal sheets and both sets of instructions present. Both instruction sets are in 'excellent' condition. Both decal sheets are perfectly flat, 100% intact and in 'very good++' condition with occasional, scattered age foxing on the backing sheet and very slight yellowing as the only flaws. NOTE: while all parts are present, the tiny axles are broken off of the missile trailer and missing. This is unfortunately common with this kit because they are incredibly small and fine. NOTE: the very top of the box displays 'Near Mint++" condition but is only rated 'Excellent++' because there is general wear and scuffing on the two long side panels. Please note that this kit must be shipped insured.

Aurora British SE-5 Scout - Without Parents Magazine Seal - Yellow Box Issue, 1/48, 103-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

Aurora Sopwith Camel - Red Dot Issue, 1/48, 102-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc-

Sold

Very rare variation of the first issue from 1956 with Northern Lights logo. Please note that the 69 cent price circle is red; this kit is rarely seen. The large rectangular 'Northern Lights' logo was only used for this one year and in 1957 it was replaced by the 'Famous Fighters' Oval Sunburst. The box artist on this issue is Jim Cox, one of the first if not the first box artist for Aurora. This kit is part of a very successful WWI aircraft line in 1/48 scale that Aurora introduced this year. The line sold so well that kits were added to it into the 1960s. Molded in the glossy olive drab green and black. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present.

Aurora Albatross D-3 - (Albatros D.III / DIII), 1/48, 104-69

Aurora Fokker D-7 - (D-VII), 1/48, 106-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Sold

Rare and still factory sealed. This is the second issue of this kit. It retains the original 1956 Jim Cox art but the square 'Northern Lights' logo has been replaced by the Sunburst 'Famous Fighters' oval. The price extension is 79 cents with factory applied stickers; it is very likely that the printing under them is 69 cent extensions. The third issue is identical except for a printed (not a sticker) 79 cent extension. This kit was Aurora's 6th 1/48 scale World War I aircraft model. All six original kits were released in 1956. The line proved so popular that new models were added yearly into the 1960s.
