'Miniature Masterpieces' was formed through an alliance of Lou Glasser (Revell) and Steve Adams (Adams Action Models) in 1953. Originally there was no evidence of the parent company on the surface. The State Coach of England was the first kit, issued in 1953. More kits of excellent quality followed. Revell completely took over the line in 1954 and in that year and the next, kits were labeled 'Revell' with a 'Miniature Masterpiece' label on the box top also.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

A very nice kit of a rare subject. The Fairey Battle may have been state-of-the-art in 1936, but by the onset of WWII it was badly outclassed in every way. Losses were so high that by mid/late 1940 they were all but completely withdrawn from front-line service. However, there was a need for training and 100 Battles were built as dual-control trainers with separate cockpits. Another 266 target towing variants were also supplied. This is a very nice kit will all fine recessed panel lines, superb resin cockpits, detailed gear wells and more. Includes paint guide and decals for both aircraft listed. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

MPM Focke-Wulf Fw-189 V6, 1/72, 72516

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

The Fw-189 made it's first flight in the late 1930s and was ordered into production soon afterwards. However, in 1938, the V1 prototype was returned to Focke-Wulf for modification into the V1b close support aircraft. The fuselage was replace with a small structure consisting of mostly armor plate. However, this aircraft found itself in with the same problems plaguing it's competition, the Hs-129 V1 - it was too heavy and underpowered. After being destroyed in a crash, the V6 (this model) was built as a back up for the Hs-129 which was also still in development. Eventually the Hs-129 was developed into a fine aircraft and there was no need for the V6 '189. This is a beautifully molded model with all very fine recessed panel lines, very good two-seat cockpit (gunner and pilot) and much more. With paint guide and decals resulting in the latest research of this rare aircraft. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.
