Aurora Boeing P-12E, 1/48, 121

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$46

Dated 1958 with amazing Jo Kotula box artwork. This is likely the second issue; the factory has applied stickers to 'blank out' the price extension on the part number and removed the 69 cent price circle. The Parents' Magazine seal and 'Famous Fighters' sunburst oval logo are still present. This was a very nice kit for that time and is molded in high gloss dark olive drab and clear plastic. Never started and inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions included.

Aurora Focke-Wulf FW-190, 1/47, 30-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$169

Dated 1960. The box is in beautiful 'Excellent++' condition. The only flaws are very light wear marks and the scratch in the B-17 at engine #3. Notice the 'Sunburst' logo with no 'Famous Fighters' in the oval, which dates this kit closer to the mid 1960s. Molded in black and clear with the clear triangular 'globe' display stand. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The decals are in amazing 'near mint' condition with the only flaw being very slight yellowing. The instructions are in 'excellent' condition with typical yellowing and very slight edge wear.

Aurora Fokker D-7 - (D-VII DVII), 1/48, 106-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

$75

Rare and still factory sealed. This is the second issue of this kit. It retains the original 1956 Jim Cox art but the square 'Northern Lights' logo has been replaced by the Sunburst 'Famous Fighters' oval. The price extension is 69 cents. The third issue is identical except for a 79 cent extension. This kit was Aurora's 6th 1/48 scale World War I aircraft model. All six original kits were released in 1956. The line proved so popular that new models were added yearly into the 1960s.

Aurora Sopwith Camel, 1/47, 102-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

$48

Rare early 1960s issue. This release has turned up less than any of the other issues and was only made for a year or two at the most before the new artwork release. This is the only issue with the full, original artwork due to the 'transparent' new simplified oval logo at the lower right. The side logos do not have 'Famous Fighters' in the border. One side has the original printed '102-79' part number while the other end has a factory-applied '100' sticker over the 79. Molded in the correct gloss olive drab and black plastic and with the chock ground base and pilot & mechanic figures. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the box displays much closer to 'Excellent++' but is graded lower because there is a small tape pull on the lower long side and some missing litho at the right short side.

Aurora Spad XIII, 1/48, 107-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+++

$75

First issue hardbox in exceptional 'Excellent+++' condition. Dated 1957 with great Jo Kotula artwork. Please note the 69 cent price extension and oval 'Famous Fighters' sunburst logo. This is part of a popular and very successful series of 1/48 scale WWI aircraft that Aurora started in 1956 and added to well into the 1960s. Many of the line were in production right up until the demise of Aurora in the mid 1970s Molded in correct high-gloss olive drab and black plastic. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Aurora Nieuport 28 - Blue Tint / Medium Blue Logo Border, 1/48, 108-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM-

$65

First issue from 1957 in investment-grade 'Near Mint-' condition. Please note that 108-69 was issued several ways; this one has the blue-tinted box art and medium blue logo border. It has yellow box sides. Please note there is no Parents' Magazine seal. Molded in gloss light gray and black. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. This is part of the famous Aurora WWI series of 1/48 scale aircraft. The series began in 1956 and Aurora added new kits into the early 1960s. The line proved incredibly popular, so some of these kits were included in the 'mold upgrade' in the 1970s before Aurora went out of business in '76.

Aurora German Albatross D-3 In Red Plastic - (Albatros DIII), 1/48, 104-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$38

1960s issue hardbox issue that has a rare feature: the kit is molded in a stunning bright red plastic to match the box art. I always wondered why Aurora did not do this; but they did at least one run. The small parts are still black as they were from a different mold. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. This is part of the famous Aurora WWI series of 1/48 scale aircraft. The series began in 1956 and Aurora added new kits into the early 1960s. The line proved incredibly popular, so these kits were included in the 'mold upgrade' in the 1970s before Aurora went out of business.

Aurora Nieuport II, 1/48, 101-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$39

This model is in investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. The only box flaw is very slight wear. Dated 1956, but this is a 1960s issue with the later John Steel artwork and blue oval 'Aurora' logo with no 'Famous Fighters'.
