1968 hardbox issue. NOTE: excellent builder. Box is bad but the kit inside is very nice. Includes electric motor for the propeller - the batteries are stored under the stand. This kit has never been started. The motor is still in the internally sealed factory bag and all plastic parts have been inventoried 100% complete with decals and instructions. Lindberg is a company with a fascinating history The original 'Lindberg Line' stretches back to the 1930s when Paul Lindberg drew plans for famous modeling magazines and marketed his balsa wood 'stick and tissue' by urging dealers to carry the '...Complete Lindberg Line'. After the war, Lindberg and Olsen had a strong hand in early United States injection molded kit development. Please see the article located on this website about early USA plastic kit manufacturers.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$115

Original issue Action Model from 1961. Features a unique system of landing gear operation: when you pull the prop outward and rotate it CCW, the landing gear retracts. Then pull it outward and rotate it CW, and the gear extends. Push the prop in, and it freewheels as normal. Other features include movable control surfaces, detailed cockpit, full decals, sliding canopy, bracing material and instructions for rigging. Molded in red, yellow, silver and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals, rigging material and instructions. The box displays better than the 'very good' grade but has pieces of masking tape on the four short sides (once used to reseal the box). That is why it is graded as such.

The fuselage assembly is 'professional' quality - by that I mean it is as good this kit is capable of being built. The wing halves are assembled as well as the wheels to the main gear - also built to 'professional' quality. There is no other assembly. Several smaller parts are very neatly painted but no larger parts are painted. Includes all aircraft parts, 'excellent+' decals and very nice instructions that have the catalog coupon cut out. Otaki Dornier Do-X Flying Boat - (DoX), 1/144, OT2-17-1200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$55

Very nicely molded and detailed. Kit has over 110 parts and a 13 inch wingspan. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The Do-X was a very famous German Flying Boat built in 1929. Dornier dreamed that this huge aircraft would become a trans-oceanic airliner with passengers traveling in ocean liner-like luxury. A tour of South and North America was conducted, but orders never materialized due to excessive fuel consumption and a lack of power. Total load was 170 passengers and crew, and the 12 engines developed 7200 HP.
