MPM Aichi M6A1 Seiran, 1/72, CZ003

Limited issue injection molded kit with fine recessed panel detail. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The M6A1 Seiran was a late war submarine based float plane. The new I-400 class contained a large, water tight hanger and this aircraft was designed specifically for that space. The wings and tail folded to fit but the aircraft could be assembled in 7 minutes by a trained crew. To aid in night assembly, the critical parts were painted with florescent paint. The first planned attack was the Panama Canal, but this was cancelled in favor of Ulithi Atoll anchorage. The war ended before the attack could take place.

Original issue from the late 1950s/early 1960s with the finest mold quality. This is an excellent model for that time and is still popular today. Molded in dark green and clear. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please not the the box would grade much higher but it has remains of clear tap on the top and lower center of the box and the long side panels. The MB-2 is the famous first bomber to sink a battleship under any circumstances. Billy Mitchell arranged to have the ex-WWI German Battleship Ostfriesland used as target practice for 6 MB2s, and the ship sank in 25 minutes.

The box displays OK from the top but has a small areas of missing litho around the left lower corner and the corner is split as well.

Late 1960s reissue of the 1950s kit. Features traditional wood/tissue construction, quality printwood sheets, pre-cut balsa stringers and spars, detailed full size plans, building instructions, clear material for windows, tissue and propeller. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Please note that the box is heavily worn and only fair but all of the contents are excellent. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

This model is part of a very popular and successful line of 1/48 World War II kits that Monogram began in the early 1960s; new kits were introduced continually into the early 1980s. This kit features great fit and finish, retracting landing gear, rotating wheels & propeller, pilot, cockpit and optional drop tank. Molded in the correct silver, black and clear plastic. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Please NOTE that the box has light age spotting; it can be seen on the right side in the light yellow areas.

1955 issue with great box art. This was Monogram's 8th plastic aircraft kit and sported the fine fit and finish that they became famous for. This model has the correct black rubber tires is the second issue; the only difference from the first issue is the "PA" vs. "P" part number. Features rotating propellers, optional retracted or 'landing' position floats, two torpedoes and crew members. Molded in the correct bright gloss dark blue (I have seen it in silver too) and clear with the early black rubber tires. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Monogram Albatross SA-16B - Hu-16, 1/72, P20-149

Rare first issue hardbox dated 1957. The first issue is P20 and the second is PA20; the "P" designation lasted less than a year. Features retracting landing gear, rotating wheels & propellers, three man crew, optional position door and two survivors in life rafts. The Albatross was the primary sea rescue aircraft of the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service, a branch of MAC - Military Airlift Command. Operational service began in 1947 and Hu-16s saw wartime action in Vietnam. Never started. Inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present. NOTE: the box displays slightly better than the 'good-' grade but is rated as such because there is a long tape pull on the upper long box side.

Monogram OS2U-3 Kingfisher - RAF Or US Navy - Blue Box Issue - (OS2U3), 1/48, PA135-150

First issue dated 1966. This kit is part of the very famous line of 1/48 scale World War II action kits. Finely molded and detailed for that time with traditional Monogram quality. Features optional parts so you can built a the shipbased (float) or wheeled land version, good cockpit detail, underwing bombs, elevating and rotating gun, pilot and gunner figures, five piece canopy that can be positioned closed or in several open configurations and choice of US Navy or Royal Navy decals. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Royal Navy aircraft were called Kingfisher I and 100 of them were delivered with both wheel and float gear. The US Navy aircraft is that of Lieutenant William F. Eadie from a Kingfisher squadron based in the Ellice Islands. He spotted and rescued Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker and his companions after they had been on a raft in the Pacific for 21 days and virtually given up for lost. Lt. Eadie moved the most injured into the radio compartment while Rickenbacker and the other crew member were lashed to the wings. Eadie figured that the aircraft could not fly, and luckily he met a PT boat and transfered the uninjured men to it.

NOTE: bagged kit; there is no box. The box is shown for reference only. Designed as an enhanced version of the Bf-109, the 209 witnessed many incarnations. Originally designed to use 109 components, this quickly fell by the wayside, and when the final variant (V5) flew in 1944, it was more than 30 mph slower than the current FW designs. The project was canceled and ended Messerschmitt's final bid to build a high performance piston interceptor. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Roseplane Nieuport 12 - French And RAF WWI Fighter, 1/72

The Nieuport 12 was a larger and more powerful Nieuport 10. Several hundred were built and served with RFC and the RNAS as well as the French Air Force. The unique feature of the aircraft was a transparent 'skylight' in the center upper wing. The model is from 1985 and features very high quality vacuform parts with better detail than many injection molded kits, full interior, clear panel wing panel, extruded rod is included for struts and more. Includes an extensive multi-view paint guide and even more painting information in text format. There is even a list of recommended upgrade/replacement parts (with part numbers) from the cast metal Aeroclub line. Never started and complete with all parts. Kit did not come with decals. The incredible 'Roseplane' series of quality vacuforms were produced by Rosemont Hobby Shop from Trexlertown, PA.
