Roden Holt 75 Artillery Tractor, 1/35, 812

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

The Holt 75 was developed out of a need to replace horses as the main motive power for transporting heavy weapons. By 1915, the British Army understood that large guns, such as 6 and 9 inch land weapons, could not be economically towed by livestock and especially over poor terrain conditions. Even the slow 2 mph speed of the tractor made it superior to all other means of moving massive, heavy modern weapons. The Holt 75 turned out to be a huge success and almost 2,000 units were produced before the end of the war. The American Expeditionary Force in Europe used them as well. This kit is highy detailed. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Wiking Flugzeug Modelle Vickers Viscount 810, 1/200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

Sold

Small scale kit from Berlin, Germany. I am unable to find a date, but the kit is certainly certainly old, most likely dating from the mid 1960s. Inside the box is a beautiful 1/200 Viscount 810 molded in gloss silver with open cabin windows, blue-tinted clear cockpit windows and clear propeller discs, an instruction sheet with markings guide photo, color decals and a blue plastic display base with a formed metal stand wire. The aircraft is accurate and very well molded like a scale model (and not like a toy) and has raised panel lines and control surface outlines lines; the clear propeller discs are in mint condition as are the four spinners. The piece has never been displayed as there is no fading, scratches or wear of any kind. 100% complete and factory-new inside.

Revell Monster Machines Mickey Thompson Challenger I and Tommy Ivo Showboat Four Engine Dragster, 1/25, 7501

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

1987 issue features both kits from the original 1960s molds. The Challenger I was originally released in 1962 and it was a revolutionary kit that broke new ground in 1/25 level of detail. In Tom Graham's interviews with Jim Keeler, the kit designer, the molds cost $80,000 in 1961 - twice that of a normal car kit. To design the kit, Thompson's mechanics gave the Revell team full run of the vehicle and even disassembled it for them. The kit features removable boy panels, four super detailed Pontiac V-8 engines with 18 parts each, complete chassis, suspension and drive train detail, water tanks, fuel tanks, parachute holder, cockpit and much more. The level of detail is astounding. Molded in correct baby blue & red plastic, chrome plate and with rubber tires. The Showboat certainly fit the name - it had four Buick Nailhead engines with individual gear boxes. That kit is very well detailed as well. Both are never started. All the red and blue colored parts are still factory sealed in the bag. The few parts not sealed (chrome and tires) have been inventoried complete. Includes 'near mint' condition decals and instructions.
