First issue dated 1958 with 'Famous Fighters in the sunburst logo, Parents Magazine seal and the 1.98 price circle at the upper right. Jo Kotula, a famous commercial aircraft illustrator, painted the stunning artwork. Molded in a stunning gloss deep burgundy and black. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. This model is part of a very successful 1/48 scale WWI series that Aurora started in 1956. They sold so well that they introduced new kits almost annually well into the 1960s. Some sold well right up until the end of Aurora in the mid 1970s.

Aurora Fokker D-7 - (D-VII DVII), 1/48, 106-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$75

First issue from 1956 with the one-year-only Northern Lights rectangular logo. The box gloss and color and factory new and very light wear is the only flaw. It showcases the famous artwork by Jim Cox; this original art lasted longer than any other at Aurora, only being replaced in the early 1970s when the molds were revised. Molded in the correct high-gloss dark green and black plastic. Decals are in rare 'excellent' condition and the instructions are 'near mint++.' Never started and inventoried 100% complete with all parts decals and instructions present.

AMT 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Promo With Original Box And Tissue Paper, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$375

Very, very rare promotional model, especially in this condition and with the original box. The box is stamped "CORVETTE CONV. 1736 SILVER PEARL." This is a one-owner model that was obtained new on November 5, 1965 in Lexington KY. It has never been displayed and has been stored in the original box and tissue since it left the factory. It is 100% complete and original with zero repairs or touch-ups. The paint and chrome are in factory-new condition. There is zero body warp and the clear is in 'mint' condition. I would grade this one 9.5 out of 10 with 10 flawless. The deduction is because there is a closed split (fits back perfectly) at the drivers side vent frame and the A pillar. Nothing is broken off, and the crack closes perfectly (it is invisible), so this is completely repairable; but I'll leave that to the new owner. Even includes the original factory packing paper. The box is complete with all flaps and solid but has wear as shown and age foxing.

Very rare and even more so in 'excellent' condition. This 1st issue 1958 hardbox has great box art with like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs, no fading, stains, price tags or tears. Light general wear (mainly on the edges and corners) and light yellow marks from old tape on the long sides are the most significant flaws. There is consistent, light general wear. The model is highly detailed and well molded for that time; almost all gun parts work like the real prototype. Very rare and one of the 'Holy Grails' of early R/C aircraft. This is a huge model in 1/6 scale. Unlike most flying airplane models, this kit is an exact duplicate of the real airplane - right down to the wing rib spacing, the rib structure, stringer spacing and much more. Beautifully done as only Cleveland could do and can be flown with class A / B / C motors. Includes full size plans and numerous prefabricated parts. It has never been started and has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and paperwork present. The Cleveland Model and Supply Company played a pivotal role in the development of true scale models. In 1909 Bleriot's English Channel flight caused a surge in aviation and model aircraft around the globe. Several companies were ideally positioned to take advantage of the aviation craze. In the USA, Wading River Manufacturing Co. (1909), White Aeroplane (1911), Ideal Model Aeroplane (1911), Broadfield Model Aeroplanes (1919) were among these pioneers, offering everything from plans and parts to complete kits and ARF models. Lindbergh's 1927 crossing of the Atlantic Ocean caused an even bigger world-wide phenomenon called 'The Aviation Craze' that extended up to the start of World War II. Many companies such as Megow, Guillow's and others started right around the time of Lindbergh's flight. Some of these models flew and flew well, but they all had one thing in common - were generally not accurate scale representations. In 1929, a youngster named Ed Packard had a very advanced dream to produce incredibly accurate, true scale models that flew perfectly. This radical idea established the world's longest operating single-owner model airplane supply business, called Cleveland Model and Supply Company. To this day, Cleveland models are treasured as the most accurate flying scale models produced. The fact that Mr. Packard started and successfully grew this business during The Great Depression is a testament to his ideals and business skill. I highly suggest the excellent book called 'Aviations great Recruiter, Cleveland's Ed Packard' by H.L. (Herm) Schreiner. It is an excellent history of the man, his company and the times of the Golden Age of Model Aviation.
