Very hard-to-find, first issue from 1961. The hardbox features beautiful John Steel frameable box art titled 'Victory Off Cherbourg', which was the harbor in France very near the Kearsarge's famous duel with the Confederate ship Alabama. This very large 1/96 scale ship measures 34.5 inches long when assembled. Very highly detailed, well molded and features pre-formed ratlines, two position gun ports, guns that turn and elevate, movable propeller, special stand, name plate and 20 action figures. Inside the kit has never been started and is as it left the factory. All small parts are still sealed in the factory bags. Only the hull halves were not sealed and they are present. Complete with two types of rigging material, metal chains, rat lines, USS Kearsarge history booklet, rat line cutting pattern, instructions, rigging diagrams and flag sheet. This kit has the factory painted hull which is in 'near mint' condition.

Early issue from the 1960s. Nichimo created an excellent line of unique 1/500 scale battleship and heavy cruiser models; the earliest ones have rare glossy box art from the 'Golden Age' of Japanese model kit illustrations. This model can be built for operation in water or static full hull or waterline versions. Very well detailed and molded for that time and features a metal & brass gearbox for dual propeller drive, u-joints, brass battery contacts and switch, metal propeller shaft, one piece lower hull (molded in the correct dark red), one piece upper hull (molded in gray), detailed deck and superstructure, rotating main turrets and separately molded secondary battery and AA guns, catapults, floatplanes and more. Never started. The plastic parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags; the hardware parts have been inventoried and NOTE: missing one metal shaft; otherwise compete. Includes the silver and gold foil covered name display card and instructions. Please note that Nichimo did not supply decals with this issue.

This is a unique aircraft with a great history. The aircraft was created by Arthur Sack in his private shop. Originally, he built and flew models with this wing configuration. He was successful after 6 years of testing, and he created the prototype from wood. As the plane neared completion, he ask for help from Luftwaffe ground units. The Luftwaffe tested the aircraft but had no success. The 'Flying Beertray' was destroyed during the retreat from the Brandis areas. This is a limited run model that Includes cast resin details
