The incredible one-of-a-kind giant transport was many years ahead of all the giant jumbo jets. What is even more amazing is that the only one built has an incredible active service record with the US Air Force. This is a conversion kit for the Monogram 1/72 B-36 (or the Revell re-release of the same kit, RB-36). It consists of two very large vac fuselage sections and a smaller vac sheet with the rudder, etc. Detailed instructions on the conversion are included as are full size templates for making wooden internal support so you kit will have the proper strength to hold the wings. Many photographs are included of the actual aircraft and of built models, as well as photos of the correct internal balsa structure. Never started and complete with all parts and full documentation. Please note that like most of these kits, the parts are GHM and the instructions are from the Rick's Models issue. This is perfectly fine for assembly purposes.

Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling models to be deluxe kits as they were very complete.
