Rare 1st issue small hardbox from 1952 in 'excellent ++' condition with like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, light wear as shown, circle logo and Ray Gaedke artwork. At first glance this box appears too small for this model- but it does fit. Molded in the correct early light gloss gray and clear. There are panel lines but very minimal rivet detail; later issues had heavy rivet detail added. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. This kit started as a basic 1/48 scale model with full landing gear, rockets and bombs. Surface detail was minimal Lindberg modified it in the mid 1950s with extensive rivet detail. in the late 1950s, they modified it again to a motorized version with the batteries in the stand and a kit electric motor in the nose. From the 1950s. Difficult-to-find cellovision issue of the world's first operational airliner with fantastic Ray Gaedke box art. Has trading card on the back. It has closed tears and the clear window material is missing.

Hardbox issue dated 1957, but from the mid 1960s due to the oval logo with the blue outline. Small scale kit with dramatic Jo Kotula box artwork is nicely molded with clear canopy, full landing gear and display stand. The line was successful and further expanded - when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, they fit in nicely with this established line.

Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: NM+
$89
Dated 1962 and features fantastic Jo Kotula box artwork; however, from the logo and price extension, this example is from the mid 1960s. The box is in amazing 'near mint+' condition with very light wear (to the corners and edges) as the only significant flaws. This kit is a 'very good' representation of the rare 'Freedom Fighter' prototype N-156. It developed into the F-5, which was widely exported and saw service in over 30 countries. Only three of the N-156 prototypes were built. The design centered around two GE J85 turbojets which originally powered the ADM-20 Quail decoy carried by the B-52 fleet. Initially there seemed to be little demand until President Kennedy's Military Assistance Program required a low-cost fighter that could be provided to US Allies. The N-156 was easily the top choice. It was renamed the F-5 and the rest is history - it became one of the most widely used fighter/bombers in post-WWII history and is still in service in some air forces. Kit includes pilot, cockpit and instrument panel, three drop tanks and early AIM-9 Sidewinder Air-to-Air Missiles. Molded in white and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present.
