Contrail Vickers Armstrong Warwick Accessory Pack Bagged, 1/72

Vacuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

Sold

Designed for Air Ministry specification B.1/35 for a two-engined heavy bomber, the Warwick was to replace the Wellington and used the same sturdy geodetic 'basket weave' construction. However, the prototype orders were cancelled in 1936 to concentrate on four-engine bombers. Vickers completed two of the prototypes anyway. RAF Coastal Command liked what it saw and eventually 712 Warwicks were produced and used for transports, air-sea rescue, meteorological recon and anti-submarine work. One saw use as a BOAC Transport and the aircraft was used by the Air Forces of Poland and South Africa. Unstarted and complete. Kit features well molded vac parts with numerous injection molded parts (gear struts, wheels, engines, etc). If combined with the optional parts in a single Warwick kit, this kit allows you to build another Warwick.

Esoteric Parnall N.2A Panther - US Navy or RAF, 1/72, NAF-34

Vacuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

Sold

The historic Panther was one of the first British aircraft to be designed to operate from aircraft carrier. Designed to Admiralty specification A.1/N.2A, the Panther was originally known as N.2A and first flew in April of 1918. Panthers were unique with the high cockpit (for good visibility in landing on the carrier) and the folding back fuselage half for improved storage. A contract for 312 aircraft was cut to 150 when WWI ended. A dispute arose between Parnall and the Air Ministry and the later contract was cancelled; but the aircraft went into production with The British & Colonial Aeroplane Co. (later Bristol). Eventually some production models were built by Parnall as well. The aircraft was successful and served on the HMS Argus and Hermes. They remained in service till 1926. Two were purchased by the US Navy and 12 were reported purchased by the Japanese. Very high quality kit with detail better than many injection molded kits. Has full interior detail. Includes decals for two British aircraft and both American Panthers. Includes many cast metal details and plenty of shaped strut material. Complete and never started.
