Very rare. Product Miniature Company of Milwaukee, WI issued the 'Tru Miniatures' New (1953) Chevrolet Corvette as a friction-powered promotional model for Chevrolet dealers and in kit form in a display box. The kit form is the rarest of the two. This example is in untouched condition. When you lift the lid, the cardboard presentation material is intact. The metal chassis and friction motor is on the right, the acetate body in the middle held in place by the paint brush, the correct two glass bottles of silver and red paint are at the upper left, the small parts and decals are still in the factory envelope and below that are the four rubber tires with the wheels in their slots. Detailed assembly and painting instructions are on the back. The acetate body is very straight with almost none of the typical warping. The box is complete but has wear as shown, mainly on the sides. This kit must be shipped insured.

The paintwork is not bad but not excellent - I would grade it 'very good'. The paint can be removed with DOT3 brake fluid if you wish. Good builder kit only - not a good collector kit. Inventoried complete with all parts and instructions. NOTE: one small rear bumper bracket has broken off and is missing. Easily replace from plastic stock.

Very nicely molded and detailed large 1/32 scale kit. Contains optional parts and decals for civil racer or military version. Features highly detailed engine and cockpit, three piece canopy, full size drawings and rigging diagrams and rubber or plastic tires. The military ship, PA69 was flown by Squadron Commanding Officer Willis Taylor of the 1st Pursuit Squadron and also by Charles Lindberg. When Lindberg flew this ship, his name was not put on it, likely to protect his privacy. The racer decals feature colorful numbers and striping for NX70-Y. The model as never been started. The parts are inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.

Very high quality kit with legendary LS detail and moldings. Features all fine recessed panel lines, cockpit detail with crew, retractable landing gear, rotating wheels and propellers, separately molded ailerons and more. Includes beautiful full color painting guide and decals for multiple aircraft. The named aircraft are all special transports (the full history is included in great detail) and the Navy aircraft was a personnel transport. The model as never been started. NOTE: missing tiny part #21 'landing flare', which is easily made from pulled sprue or stock plastic. It looks like a light on the nose of the aircraft. Inventoried with all other parts, decals and instructions. The fact that Hasegawa still uses some LS molds testifies to their detail and accuracy.

Russ Westfall. Decals are in mint condition and not used. The model itself is a bagged kit with no box. The box is shown for reference only. Perfect builder. This collector stored this and all of his kits in bags because of limited storage space. He was very precise; the canopy is bagged separate to prevent scratching, the small parts are in a zip lock for protection and then put into a larger sealed bag with the bigger parts and instructions. Decals are excellent. Very high quality kit that builds to a beautiful model. This is the 1983 issue with the wonderful 'The Turtle' nose art. Features full cockpit with sliding canopy, instrument panel, detailed pilot, seat, stick, gun sight, headrest and wheel wells. Includes two wing mounted 500 lb bombs and drop tank.
