ITC CV-65 USS Enterprise - Motorized and with Cam-A-Matic Action, 1/390, 3658-2-1198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

Rare action kit from the early 1960s. The ship sails in the water with an electric motor driving all four propellers. You can program the steering via the Cam-A-Matic drive to steer any number of patterns. While underway, the aircraft elevators move up and down and the ship launches aircraft. The kit has never been started. Inside, the original display cardboard is present and three of four parts bags are still factory sealed. NOTE: One bag was opened and is complete except for (2) of (6) #93 rubber band holders for the batteries. This part is not seen when the kit is built as it is down in the hull. It is a simple rectangle with one round hole. Very easily made. Decals are 'excellent' and instructions are in 'very good' condition due to some light bug damage. The kit is advertised 'For the Advanced Hobbyist' on the box top and I would agree. There are a great many parts and no shortage of moving features and complications. ITC did not shy away from making advanced kit like this and the diving Halibut submarine (dives, surfaces, steers patterns and launches a Regulus II missile) but many kits were returned by frustrated parents and children who did not have the experience to build more complicated models. However, when built properly, they worked and they worked well.

Top Flite DC-3 Gold Edition R/C With Retracts - 82.5 Inch Wingspan - Eastern or C-47 Markings - With Du-Bro Wheels and Tires and Top Flite Scale Pneumatic Retractable Landing Gear, 1/14, TOPA0500

Multimedia Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

Also includes Top Flite TOPQ8276 Pneumatic Retractable Landing Gear that is still factory sealed and Du-Bro 3.25" diameter #325R main gear tires and #150TW 1.5" tail wheel and tire. Both are still factory sealed. The kit itself is a very large RC 1/14 Sport Scale Airplane. The Golden Era of Aviation Eastern Air Lines replica is IMAA Legal with a fully-sheeted fuselage and wingspan of 82.5". The original airplane was designed for commercial passenger travel, and some still fly today. This is a great introduction into building and flying a scale twin-engined kit. Features excellent flying characteristics; because of the engine angle and modified aerodynamics, this kit flies extremely well, even on one engine. (Most models of the DC-3 will go inverted and crash) There is a lot of wood and precision-formed ABS tail cone, engine nacelles, wing fairings, and cockpit top. An interlocking fuselage frame builds flat on the plans and the large round fuselage requires very little carving or shaping. Can be built with split-flaps and the scale aerodynamic "Balance Tab" rudder which uses the air deflection to help turn the plane. Includes Eastern Air Lines and Optional Military C-47 decals. The kit has never been started and is factory new inside. All small parts are still factory sealed. All other parts are still in the factory rubber band bundles and have been inventoried complete including decals, great instructions and plans. NOTE: unless you specify otherwise, the kit will be shipped in the box shown.

Decals are excellent. 1973 White Box issue of the famous 1950s kit. The ability for short field operation and use with wheels, skis or floats made it very popular at the time.
