Aurora Batman Batplane Built Up Original Issue

This original Aurora kit features the clear two-piece "Globe" triangle stand, Batman and Robin in the cockpit (as one piece), tricycle landing gear, nose probe, clear canopy and "Bat Wing" main gear door covers. The kit has never been painted but has been built. The glue was so old or of such poor quality that the kit simply fell apart. Includes original stand with stand decal applied. Quality of assembly was only fair. The modeler will need to sand and compound some glue smears, but much of the glue flakes off with a fingernail. Revell Great Eastern - First of the Great Steamships, 1/388, H5201

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

Hard-to-find kit of this historic ship. Revell of Germany issue. Measures 22.25 inches long when built. The Great Eastern (originally Leviathan) was the work of English Designer I.K. Brunel. In the 1850s there was a need for large ocean liners to carry the immigrant trade, but none existed. Shipping companies also wanted the interiors of ocean liners to look like hotels, but there simply no space. This ship was to solve that problem. She was launched in 1857 and five times bigger than any other ship of the day! The 22,500 ton Great Eastern was 693 feet long and carried 4000 passenger. Unfortunately, her career was one mishap after another until she found fame by laying the trans-Atlantic cable. Very nicely detailed model. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
