Kit is highly detailed and features clear promanade deck window inserts. The kit has never been started. Ship is inventoried complete with all parts. Includes decals, instructions with flag sheet. Adams was founded by Steve Adams and released plastic assembly kits in the late 1950s. The company was innovative and the general quality of most kits was very high for the time- so much that builders (not just collectors) still seek the kits today. Adams is best known today for a series of military vehicles and missiles, although they also released an aircraft (Draken), helicopter (YH-41), balloon (La Coquette) and ship (SS Savannah). Some of these appeared in gift sets as well. The Adams smaller scale (1/40) Atomic Cannon, Hawk Missile Battery, Honest John, Vanguard (1/80) and Thor (1/87)missiles and other kits are still sought after today. Combinations of these kits were issued in gift sets, which are very desirable collector's items today. In the late 1950s, Adams entered into a joint venture with Revell, and several of the military kits were released under the Revell label, such as the Jeep among others. Around 1960 there was a disagreement between Adams and Revell, and the agreement was terminated. Sometime after this, Adams quit the plastic model business, and Life-Like purchased most of the Adams molds.

Lindberg PT Boat by Paul Lindberg - (P.T. Boat), 1/60, 701-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc-

Sold

Very rare 1950s Lindberg 1st issue with the early round logo. Very large and nicely detailed kit with over 120 parts. This early issue still features metal stanchions and metal hand rails. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts complete and includes flag sheet, decals and instructions. This kit has a very interesting history. It was originally produced by Varney in 1944. It was novel at the time as it had a wooden hull, cardstock deck but all injection molded tenite deck parts and details. But the world was not ready for this type of kit and dealers were hesitant to carry it - which resulted in low sales. Gorden Varney sold the molds for the kit to O-lin (Olsen and Lindberg). O-Lin reworked the kit using a vacuform hull, cardstock and tenite parts. When Lindberg took full control of O-lin, he went to an injection molded hull, colorful cardstock 'wood' deck, plastic parts, metal stanchions and other metal stock an needed (prop shafts, etc). This is that model.

Sterling North American P-51D Mustang - 24 inch Wingspan for Control Line / Rubber / R/C - Drops Twin Bombs in Flight, A13-398

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Sold

Still factory sealed. 24 inch wingspan kit for RC, free flight or control line. Includes innovative system for automatically dropping twin wing mounted bombs in flight. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they featured color decals, high-grade die cut balsa, vacuform plastic detail parts, plastic wheels (if required), finished wire landing gear, rubber motor and plastic prop, full size plans with instruction details and full instructions for conversion to RC or control line.

KP Letov S328 (S-328) - Floatplane or Landplane, 1/72, KP006

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Mint

Sold

Still factory sealed. Very attractive 1930's float plane. Can be built as a land based aircraft also. Very nicely molded with very fine raised panel detail and good detail. And thank you to Ales Pakosta for the following information- The actual use of the S-328 floatplane was quite unique. It was used as a training target tug plane during the Czechoslovak Anti-Aircraft Artillery maneuvers in contemporary Yugoslavia, in the Boka Kotorska (Bay of Kotor, now in Montenegro). In fact, it was not for naval artillery training but was done in this way so that shells fired from shore fell into the sea to prevent damage on the land. As there was no appropriate airfield nearby, the target tug aircraft had to operate from the sea surface. As a result, about three aircraft were modified for this task from land-based light bomber-scout biplane. They replaced the classic fixed undercarriage with a pair of floats purchased from the British Short company. The seaplanes remained in use for a several years in this special role. The land-based versions of the S-328 (which can be built from the kit as well) were very popular in the Czechoslovak Air force in the mid thirties; many were seized by Luftwaffe in 1939. The last known combat use of these machines came in 1944 during the Slovakian National Uprising, when their pilots had to fight such planes as Messerschmidt Bf109G.
