Ragwings Fokker D-VI - Bagged, 1/72, R002

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed

Sold

Still factory sealed. Very limited production kit - only a little over 100 were made. Very high quality resin castings with metal details and full decals for two aircraft. I have received the following information from Jeff Stockham on this rare kit: 'Regarding the Ragwings Fokker D.VI you have for sale, I can provide some additional background info on this kit. The company was formed and owned by Marty Snow (dba MGS Enterprises) of Rochester, NY; Marty did the masters for the Pfalz E-1 and Bristol Scout D; I did the master for the Fokker D.VI (modifying some parts from Revell's Dr.I and D.VII and scratchbuilding some) and I did the artwork for all the backing cards, decals and instructions, as well as the small print ads that appeared in FineScale Modeler and other magazines. I was halfway though the master for a really accurate Albatros D.V/D.VA when other events interfered, other makers came out with the same items, momentum slowed, and Marty eventually closed up the business. The actual production of both the resin and metal copies was subcontracted to Ted Paris of Commanders Series Inc, Rochester NY; I think that Decal Master printed the decals. In all the years since, I have never seen one of these for sale. I know Marty marketed them directly to retail buyers via mail order ads in FSM; I don't know how many he actually sold, but it wasn't enough to make it worth the effort. These have to be among of the rarest short-run resin kits ever. I never did build one of these D.VI's up, but I do remember that it got a very positive review in one of the British modeling magazines (I think it was Windsock.)' The kit has never been started.

Sold

This is an extensive and high quality set that features a giant atomic bomb, 8 small bombs and two larger bombs, bomb holding trapeze gear, detailed bomb bay, full resin cockpit with floor, side panels, ejection seats, control columns and instrument panels, detailed gear wells, beautiful cast metal landing gear main struts and outriggers as well as strut braces and illustrated instructions. Complete and never used. The actual model is very nicely detailed with fine panel detail, open/closed bomb bay doors with internal iron bomb load, tail "stinger" and detailed landing gear with good well detail. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags. With decals and instructions. The B-47 was a very advanced aircraft at the time. The XB-47 first flew in 1947. The big jet's speed was equal to or greater than all current fighter aircraft, so it received radar-controlled twin 20mm cannons in the tail as the only guns. Through the use of mid-air refueling, the B-47 gave SAC it's first all-jet force for nuclear or regular bomb delivery. Although it was tricky to fly, Stratojets flew into the mid 1960s. A program to strengthen the wings for low-level attack was responsible for prolonging the service life.
