Dated 1983 and a very nice model of this classic British 1930's flying boat. Features optional parts for three variants, 'good' cockpit, cabin bulkheads, separately molded elevator control surfaces, optional beaching gear, nose, top and tail machine gun positions, tail dolley, pilot and gunner figures and more. Includes painting guide and decals for the three aircraft listed. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The Stranraer was one of several successful flying boats designed by RJ Mitchell for the RAF. Experience gained with the Southampton and Scapa flying boats was put to good use in design of the Stranraer which featured an all metal structure. Although replaced operationally with the Sunderland, examples of this aircraft were used till 1942 in WWII and many flew long after the war was over.

NOTE: ideal builder/restoration kit only. Please read the condition carefully. Rare kit from the mid 1960s. Features detailed engine and compartment with opening hood, complete interior, 'Torsion Bar' suspension and underside detail. All chrome and clear is in excellent condition and nothing is broken. NOTE: this kit has quality subassembly as follows: step 1 (wheels, engine and chassis) built but no painted (all excellent to near mint quality). Interior door handles and dash trim painted silver ('excellent'); steering wheel glued to dash (mint), radiator and firewall installed (near mint); missing custom tach, shifter, rear view mirror and (2) body pins; the body of the car is painted white but only to 'good' quality. You can sand it down or strip it and repaint. There is no other assembly. Inventoried with all other parts present and includes photocopied instructions (the original instructions are missing).

NOTE: this kit has 'near mint+' quality subassembly as follows: wheels, engine and chassis are assembled and painted; headlight lenses are detail painted. Quality of all paint is 'near mint.' There is no other assembly or painting. Inventoried 100% complete and includes photocopied instructions (the original instructions are missing).

Includes painting guide and full color decals. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. The box art is by the famous Jo Kotula who did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News' and later the Aurora box art of the late 1950s. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.

It is also an excellent kit featuring brass and chrome plated parts, opening rear door and pie rack, full face flathead engine, custom exhaust system, combination mag-spoke wheels, 'Spectacle' turn signals, brass cowl-mounted headlights, wide oval front tires, fat, wild-faced rag slicks, race car gas tank, tufted floor and bucket seats, wood-grained floorboard, cherry shift lever and extra decals for Pizza or Taco Wagon. Molded in purple, beautiful chrome, clear and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts. Includes decals and instructions, both in 'near mint' condition. The box displays better than the 'very good' rating, but is graded as such due to light bug damage restricted to the edges.
