Sterling Nieuport 17 Launches Rockets In Flight - 24 Inch Wingspan For Free Flight / Control Line / R/C, A5

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

This large scale kit is from the 1970s and includes innovative system for automatically firing wing rockets in flight. The Sterling Fokker D-7 has the same system; other models such as the Stuka and P-6E drop bombs in flight; another actually drops leaflets while another crop dusts. This model is designed to fly one of three ways; free flight (rubber or gas, control line or R/C. If you are experienced, you can even make it electric powered R/C. Features precision, die-cut balsa wood parts, lightweight and detailed plastic cowl with engine front, machine gun & pilot bust, fully formed wheels with rubber tires, complete rocket firing system with fully finished rockets, launching tubes and hardware, plastic propeller, fully formed wire landing gear struts, rubber motor, covering tissue, a large and beautiful decal sheet and superb Sterling full size plans with instructions. Never started and the small parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags; the larger parts were never sealed and have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe models due to their many additional features.

Revell Tally-Ho Coach - Miniature Masterpieces, 1/48, H513-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Sold

Rare model from 1955 which includes an superb history of the life and times of the famous early 1800s 'Tally-Ho' coaches during the 'Golden Age' of coaching in England. The most famous of all of the Tally-Ho coaches was the one that ran from London to Birmingham. This brilliantly painted coach, with it's red and black panels and gold lettering, became a familiar sight along the road and so punctual was its schedule that people set their watches by it. During the holiday season, particularly Christmas, the Tally-Ho became a vehicle that united families and loved ones from all over England. Riding the Tally-Ho was always a festive event, but during Christmas it was unrestrained with the jovial passengers huddled under bright robes, dashing over the snow covered roads. That well-known London-Birmingham coach is the subject of this very kit. The box is in 'very good++' condition with the box color and gloss as good as new. All four corners are solid and there are no repairs. There are no price tags, tape or tape marks (except the factory sealing tape, or course). There is corner wear and general wear as shown. This kit features some of my favorite box artwork by Scott Eidson. This very highly detailed model includes coach, four horses and ten figures. Never started. The parts and decals are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes excellent instructions. 'Miniature Masterpieces' was formed through an alliance of Lew Glaser (Revell) and Steve Adams (Adams Action Models) in 1953. Although the molds were made at Adams and it had the appearance of an independent company, the firm was run by Revell down to the prototypes being made at the Revell plant. Originally there was no evidence of the parent company on the surface. The State Coach of England was the first kit, issued in 1953. More kits of excellent quality followed. Revell completely took over the line in 1954 and in that year and the next, kits were labeled 'Revell' with a 'Miniature Masterpiece' label on the box top also.

Sealsmodel Yashima Battleship 1890s, 1/700, SMP0103800

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

This model is a very highly detailed waterline kit of a rare subject. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes and instructions. Yashima was a Fuji-class pre-dreadnought battleship built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) in the 1890s. As Japan lacked the industrial capacity to construct such vessels, the ship was designed and built in the United Kingdom. She participated in the early stages of the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–1905, including the Battle of Port Arthur on the second day of the war. Yashima was involved in subsequent operations until she struck two mines off Port Arthur in May 1904. The ship did not sink immediately, but capsized while under tow later that day. The Japanese were able to keep her loss a secret from the Russians for over a year. As a result, the Russians were unable to take advantage of the ship's loss.
