Hard-to-find early issue with "T" part number. Very highly detailed and has over 410 parts. Features swiveling 90 piece snorkel boom assembly that elevates and extends to over 28 inches long, fully detailed Detroit Diesel 8V-71 engine, full engine compartment, complete interior and rear deck and much more. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the internal factory sealed bags. The parts that were never sealed (lift parts, chrome and clear have been inventoried complete and includes decals and instructions. There is a large sheet of excellent decals that includes some specific city markings but also includes enough numbers, letters and logos to make almost any fire truck.

1960s/early '70s issue. Features traditional wood/tissue construction, quality print and stripwood, formed wheels, rubber motor, prop and thrust button, hardware and clear canopy material if required, tissue covering and detailed full size plans/building instructions. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Never started and complete. Please note what while the box says P-51, the kit plans appear to be the NA73. I will let the new owner determine exactly what is correct here.

Brand new in the box. Purchased around 1961 by a US Navy Officer in Japan. He brought them home via the USS Saratoga but never used them. Includes the original box, "III15 RC" gas engine still in the original factory plastic bag (never run), the original factory tissue paper and the instructions/spec sheet. OS engines were made by Ogawa Model Mfg Company LTD in Osaka Japan. Many of the kits has a sticker on them that says "Tokyomokei Models Inc" with the address 1-5 Ginzahigashi, Tokyo Japan. I know this was a umbrella type organization that sold many brands of Japanese hobby kits; but it also may have been an actual store or warehouse too.
