Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

$40

Still factory sealed but the seal has split on two sides. 1965 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. The model includes chrome plated, colored and clear parts. Features detailed chassis with suspension, steering linkage and gas tank, spoked wheels, complete motor and interior, dual rear mount spares and a removable hood.

Revell 1911 Rolls Royce Highway Pioneers, 1/32, H46-89

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$42

1953 issue, the first year for the 'Series Three' Highway Pioneers. The box is excellent, and the inside has never been started. It is still factory sealed in the 'krinkle' bag. Complete with instructions. Molded in deep burgundy plastic. Before the 1950s 'model building' never made the top 10 list of boy's activities. Hobbies were nothing new to America in the 1930s/40s, but they were not mainstream. Shortly after the turn of the century, many dedicated modelers built flying or static airplanes, ship, train, automotive or other subjects. Basic kits existed, but the majority of these models were built from scratch, which demanded a high talent level developed from years of experience. That changed in the early 1950s. The phenomenon of the Revell/Gowland & Gowland 'Highway Pioneers' car kits was a significant force in proving that model building as a hobby could have mass appeal, provided that the kits were easy enough to build and finish. These 1/32 scale vehicles could be built in an hour after dinner and looked much like the real car. The Highway Pioneers series lead to the production of other subjects in plastic and the effect was revolutionary. By the early 1960s, model building was the #1 past time of American boys.

Alanger Tovarisch Training Ship (Ex-Gorch Fock), 1/185, 040008

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$39

Large scale kit that is nicely detailed. Possibly from older Heller molds. Features a cleanly molded full hull with excellent deck detail, billowing vacuform sails and rigging diagrams. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. This ship has an amazing and long history. She was originally the Gorch Fock, which was built in 1933 at Blom und Voss shipyard as a training ship for the Kriegsmarine. She was given to the Soviets for war reparations in 1945. After being re-floated and undergoing 2 years of repairs, she served as the Soviet Navy training ship Tovarisch. Tovarisch began sailing in 1950 and won the International Sailing Regatta in 1974 and 76. She trained more than 17,000 cadets and was in over 40 motion pictures. In 2003, she was purchased back by German sponsors and returned to her home port in Germany, where she was given her original name back and became a museum ship at Stralsund.

ITC Mercer Raceabout Motorized Cam-a-Matic with Working Lights, 1/8, 36376-895

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair++

$185

The largest injection molded kit ever made of this famous car. From the very early 1960s; features good detail for that time and operates realistically with Cam-a-Matic action. Car moves forward with real motor sound, then begins one of several pre-set steering patterns via one of four cams, stops at selected intervals, then flashes the headlights on then reverses at selected intervals! Measures about 17 inches long when built. Molded in red, black, clear and with plated plastic. The kit has never been started. The motor with metal parts and plated parts are still in their factory sealed bags, as are half of the red parts, the brass plated parts and the black wheels/tires. NOTE: one red parts bag is open; the kit appears (I say appears because one red bag is still sealed) to be missing the starting crank and short steering column sleeve; both are easily made. Also missing decals. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts and instructions present. The yellow interior display cardboard is present and in 'good' condition. The box top displays much better than the 'fair++' grade but is graded as such because one short side is torn but complete and taped from the inside. The lower box (tray) is complete but split on many corners and repaired with clear tape. There is a small, high quality repair to the underside of the chassis where there was a 1 inch closed split on a fender mount.

ITC 1956 1957 Lincoln Continental Mark II - (Ideal Toy Company Continental), 1/25, 3712

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$425

Very rare, especially in complete, never started condition like this example. The model may be rarer than the actual car; less than 10 kits have traded hands publically (on-line) in a decade. The Continental MkII was a hand-built car of the highest quality. It was the most expensive American car made at that time and was certainly a style leader. About 3,000 of them were produced; Ford said it lost $1000 on each one. But they did prove that a world-class car rivaling Rolls-Royce could be made in America. This model is molded in black (body), red (interior/chassis and other details), chrome plate, clear, metal axles and rubber tires. It has never been assembled and is 100% complete with all parts and instructions.

Aurora A-37 Strike Jet, 1/43, 147-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$69

1968 hardbox issue. Features detailed cockpit and extensive under wing loadout. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts decals and instructions.

Aurora Curtiss Hawk P-6E, 1/43, 116-130

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Mint

$75

Still factory sealed. The kit is dated 1958, but this is obviously a later issue as the Aurora logo does not say 'Famous Fighters' in the border and has no sunburst - due to the 130 price extension, it is most likely from 1961 or '62.

Aurora Boeing B-29 Superfortress, 1/76, 372-259

$225
