MPM Aichi M6A1-K Nanzan - (M6A1K), 1/72, 72014

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$32

Early in the development of the Seiran submarine based float plane, two preproduction airframes emerged with retractable landing gear for land operation. These were likely the 5th and 6th prototypes and they had dual controls. They were given the 'K' designation for trainer. They could also be operated from the submarines as they had the same catapult attachment. Training may have taken place like this with and airbase landing. It is interesting that the original Seiran concept did not call for floats as the aircraft would launch from the submarine catapult and crash-land beside the submarine when the mission was over. Limited edition kit. Features fine recessed panel line detail and decals for both aircraft. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

O-Lin Ryan Navion / North American Aviation NA-143 - (Lindberg), 1/48, 507

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

$125

Very rare kit for the advanced collector. This is a very hard to find original O-lin kit in the small box and advertisement for O-line cement on the top. Production first began in 1949 or just before. O-Lin (Olin) was founded by Paul Lindberg and a Mr. Olsen - hence the company name. Although a producer of flying models in the 1930s, O-lin produced some of the earliest American injection molded kits in the late 1940s. In 1950 the partnership may have ended, because all branding was changed to Lindberg and Paul Lindberg. Inside, the kit is as new. It is molded in high gloss ivory. I have seen many cases where Paul Lindberg used up the old O-Lin stock, combining different sets of instructions and decals resulting in odd combinations. While I admire his efficiency, it makes does make collecting these unique. This model has the O-Lin box, O-Lin instructions, O-Lin parts and the earliest 'Lindberg Products' decals dated 11/1952 on the back. The kit has never been started and is inventoried complete with all parts, instructions and decals. The Navion was originally produced by North American Aviation as a high performance sport plane, but they sold them to the US Air Force as well. North American sold the rights to Ryan, who continued to successfully produce the aircraft.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$32

Early Heller kits had some wonderful engineering (such as in the Etendard IV and DC-8) and this model is no exception. You can built this model and will look like the airplane on the cover with no painting at all. The kit is molded in white, gray-silver, clear and includes black rubber tires. The fuselage lower section is molded in gray-silver along with the wings and engines, and the upper fuselage is in white. There are colorful Air France decals in very good condition. The landing gear and gear doors can be positioned up or down. The kit has never been started. NOTE: missing one engine inlet (3 are present) and three exhausts (1 is present).
