Very well detailed large 1/16 kit from 1949. Features plastic wheels, grill, steering wheel, lights and other accessories and wooden main parts. Although all of Hudson's 1/16 kits have excellent detail, this one has even more detail than usual thanks to Hudson's engineers having access to the actual car. This kit has never been started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing the rectangle floor (easily made of balsa) and the headlights (simple cylinders; can be made from stock wood or plastic). All other parts have been inventoried otherwise complete and includes plans/instructions. Please note, there are adult notes written on the plans to improve the accuracy of the model. The owner of these kits was a keen researcher and actually won a Hudson Miniature Old Timers Model Building Competition. Hudson Miniatures created a very popular line of automobile kits in a constant 1/16 scale shortly after WWII. The kits sold very well...so well that you could argue that Gowland & Gowland borrowed Hudson's subject matter for their ground-breaking 'Highway Pioneers.' The Hudson Miniatures 'Old Timers' even spawned a line of imitators, with Fador's 'Smallster' being one of the better in quality. Sales did drop on the appearance and popularity of the much smaller (and less accurate) Gowland/Revell 'Highway Pioneers' in 1951. When the all-injection molded Gowland kits proved not to be a passing fad, Hudson quickly planned and released his own all-plastic, small-scale competition called 'Lil' Old Timers Quickie Kits.' The kits were of excellent quality, but it was too little too late. Additionally, sales of the excellent wooden kits faltered further in the next few years with the introduction of accurate, 1/24 and 1/32 all-plastic cars in the mid 1950s. This forced Hudson to discontinue the wood kits and the plastic line was sold to Revell and subsequently re-released. Today, these excellent, big 1/16 kits are often the only model available of these early automobiles. In the mid 1960s Aurora thought so highly of Hudson Miniatures that they purchased the wood kit assets and released a very small number of these in all-plastic models.

Very nicely molded model with all very fine recessed panel lines. Features highly detailed interior, engine, crew, choice of four load-out options and decals for four aircraft and painting guide. Markings are included for Fuchida's Pearl Harbor aircraft from Zuikaku (bomb load), Shokaku (many smaller bombs), Zuiho (Torpedo load) or a radar equipped aircraft from the 931 Air Squadron. The kit is intended to be motorized with the Mabuchi Baby motor and has full instructions for such, but the motor itself was not furnished by Nichimo. The kit has never been started. Rare promotional in very nice condition. The model was obtained on March 1, 1965 by an adult collector in Lexington KY. The model is not flawless but is very nice. The paint has 'excellent' color and gloss, the chrome is 'excellent' and the model has never been played with. There is zero body warp and the clear is in 'excellent' condition. I would grade this one 8 out of 10 with 10 flawless. If you disassembled and cleaned it that would be the biggest improvement. The box is not original.

Amazing condition, true dealer promotional model with the original box. One owner and obtained new in late 1974 from a Lexington, KY dealership by a discriminating collector. The model is still wrapped in the original tissue paper It was never used, displayed or played with and the tires reflect that. The chrome, clear and tires are as new. The paint color and gloss are factory fresh but there are roof scuffs as shown in the photo. Complete with all parts - the left tail light is present - it is slightly recessed. I'll grade it 9 out of 10 with the entire deduction due to the roof scuffs. The box is 'excellent' and is stamped "1975 OLDS CUTLASS CRIMSON RED MET" on the end flap.

1961 model features fantastic Cold-War artwork and full interior detail. The Ethan Allen was the lead submarine of her class. These replacements for the George Washington class had 16 tubes as before, but could carry the Polaris A-1, A-2 and A-3. Classic large (24" long) SSBN kit actual fires a spring-loaded Polaris Missiles from the hull launch tube. Highly detailed and well molded for that time. Starboard hull halve hinges down to reveal full interior detail for each compartment. The kit has never been started.
