Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Exc++
$349
Rare first issue that is 100% correct. The box has excellent color and gloss, four solid original corners (no repairs), no fading or stains, no missing litho or tears, no tags or tag marks and no tape or tape marks (other than the factory sealing tape of course). Flaws include very light general wear as shown and moderate corner wear at the lower left corner. This first issue has minimal surface detail and is molded in the correct non-metallic medium blue and clear plastic. It also has the correct rectangle-based clear display stand and the instructions match this perfectly. (The second and all later issues had greatly increased rivet detail and were molded in a metallic blue plastic) The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The decals are flat and in amazing 'near mint' condition with only the slightest yellowing. The instructions are 'near mint+' with slight yellowing being the only flaw. Even the original factory packing tissue is present.
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: VG+++

Very rare first issue which includes the proper swastika box art and swastika decals. The box has excellent color and gloss, four solid original corners (no repairs), no price tags or tag marks, no tape or tape marks (other than the thin factory sealing tape of course), no fading, stains or torn/missing litho. Flaws include general wear as shown, especially to the left corners and edge as shown. This issue is 100% correct for the first release. The FW-190 was originally issued at the new West Hempstead factory, meaning that it was never part of the famous "Brooklyn 8" (Aurora's first 8 aircraft kits). That also means that the first issue had landing gear and bombs but still had the small clear rectangle stand which was also shown on the instructions. The late issue of the '190 also means it is the rarest of the swastika issues because the swastika was painted out a short time after moving to West Hempstead. Molded in the correct gloss black and clear, with the rectangle-based clear stand, matching instructions and a stunning 'near mint' condition decal sheet which is flat and not even yellowed. The instructions are 'excellent' with slight yellowing, light wear and a 3/4" closed split on a fold crease. Even the original factory packing tissue is present.

1990 issue of this infamous automobile. Nicely done with 60 parts, full interior, separately molded suspension, rotating wheels, luggage rack, excellent decals and more. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the thin top frame has closed splits (like most of these kits) but all parts are still attached. This is most easily repaired by installing the roof, then gluing the frame parts to the underside of the roof. This serves to automatically align everything and reinforce it. From Wikipedia: The Trabant is an automobile which was produced from 1957 to 1990 by former East German car manufacturer VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau. It is often seen as symbolic of the former East Germany and the collapse of the Eastern Bloc in general. The Trabant had a duroplast body mounted on a one-piece steel chassis (a so-called unibody), front-wheel drive, a transverse engine, and independent suspension- unusual features in 1957 but it remained much the same until 1989 when it acquired a (licensed) Volkswagen engine; its discontinuation followed in 1991. The 1980s model had no tachometer, no indicator for either the headlights or turn signals, no fuel gauge, no rear seat belts, and no external fuel door, and drivers had to pour a mix of gasoline and oil directly under the bonnet/hood (yes, that is right, it's a car with a two cycle engine). Called "a spark plug with a roof," 3,096,999 Trabants in a number of models were produced over nearly three decades with few significant changes in their basic design. It took up to 10 years to acquire your new Trabant; if you did not want to wait, a second-hand one cost your double what a brand new one cost. The Trabant's build quality was poor, reliability was terrible, closer inspection revealed "patchy assembly quality", with an atrocious maintenance record. According to automotive journalist Doug DeMuro, the Trabant was loud, slow, poorly designed, and badly built.

Completely factory painted and lettered. Paint is professional quality and in perfect condition. E&B painted all of the parts; not just the larger ones like most manufacturers did. Superb injection molded kit with plastic truck set and dummy couplers. Highly detailed with a large number of parts. While model aircraft mold makers and molding machine operators were claiming that you could not mold parts this fine, several model train companies, like E&B Valley, were busy proving them wrong. This is kit for the serious model railroader who demands prototype fidelity. Molded in black plastic. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions.

Features die cut hardwood parts (no balsa), carved clerestory roof, clear clerestory window material, complete underside details, metal castings, building instructions and full size plans. I have built these models and they look identical to the real prototypes. The kit has not been started and is complete with all parts, sealed smaller details and plans + instructions.
