AMT Diamond Reo Semi Tractor Trailer, 1/25, T537

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc

Renwal Curtiss Goshawk F11C-2 Aeroskin - USS Saratoga (F11C2), 1/48, 282-149

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

$45

This is one of Renewal's famous Aeroskin kits, and a rare large one in 1/48. Features markings for the aircraft of "High Hat Squadron," VF-1B commander Seligman aboard the USS Saratoga in the early 1930s. The model has an injection molded inner structure of ribs and stringers like a real aircraft, then the modeler covers it with provided authentic pre-colored Aeroskin fabric. There is no painting needed as elaborate finishes are printed directly on the Aeroskin covering. This results a very realistic and colorful model. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bag and Aeroskin and instructions are present. NOTE the box is rough and missing the left end panel, but the kit inside is in fine condition and an ideal builder.

Hasegawa-Frog Lockheed P-38 J or L Lightning - USAF (3 Aircraft) or ROC Republic Of China Taiwan, 1/72, JS-029-250

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair+

$42

Rare Japan Hasegawa/Frog early issue. As you know, AMT marketed Frog in the USA as AMT-Frog. Frog also marketed Hasegawa kits in the UK, but with no Hasegawa identification. What is even less known is that Hasegawa marketed Frog kits in Japan under the Hasegawa/Frog label. The parts appear to be molded in England while the decals, box and instructions were all made in Japan. This P-38 is one of those kits. This is a very early example with the early rectangle logo; the Frog logo is immediately to the right. Most Japan issue kits had special features and this one is no exception. It includes a special round-based clear two-piece globe stand, a unopened tube of Hasegawa cement and additional decals - no fewer than four different Lightnings are represented with paint guides. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the box displays better than the 'fair+' grade but is noted as such because the right short side is badly water damaged. There is no water damage to the parts, decals or instructions.

The parts appear to be molded in England while the decals, box and instructions were all made in Japan. This Me-410 is one of those kits. Hasegawa Grumman S2F-1 (S-2A) Tracker Hi-Vis Paint Scheme, 1/72, 1102

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$48

1970s Hi-Vis issue. Nicely detailed for that time and never started. Inventoried 100% complete including all parts, decals and instructions. Over 1000 Trackers were completed for the Navy as carrier-based submarine hunters. Grumman was awarded the contract in 1950, and in 1952 the first XS2F-1 flew. The large belly radome contained the PAS-38 search radar and the AWQ-10 MAD detector was in the tail. ALD-3 ECM performed DF (direction finding) duties, and the 70 million candle power spotlight lit up targets at night. Sonobuoys were held in both engine nacelles and offensive weapons included acoustic torpedoes, depth charges, rockets and conventional bombs. Trackers saw service in several other Navies including Canada.

Wilhelmshaven TS Bremen (V) Ocean Liner 1958 - (ex-Pasteur 1938) - Cardstock Model, 1/250, 1000

Cardstock Paper Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc

$29

"Large scale, very highly detailed cardstock model. Beautifully color printed on 6 exceptionally large sheets of quality cardstock. No painting required - just build! Includes full instructions in German. Never started; nothing has been cut out and all the sheets are in excellent condition. 100% complete. NOTE: due to the very large sheets, this kit will be shipped rolled up in a tube unless you request otherwise. From Wikipedia: After a very active career as the French ocean liner Pasteur, she was acquired by North German Lloyd and renamed TS Bremen in 1957, she was extensively rebuilt at Bremer Vulkan in Bremen for approximately 65 millions DM. Her size was increased to 32,336 GRT and the load-carrying capacity with 8,700 tdw. She received new boilers and four turbines with a maximum output of 60,000 HP rendering a maximum speed of 26 knots. Economical output of 53,500 HP gave a very useful speed of 23 knots. Three 1,375 KVA generators had an output of 6,600 kilowatt. One very noticeable change was the new drop-shaped funnel, which was much more in proportion with the ship than the original tall funnel. To enhance comfort, two 4,50 m Stabilizers were fitted. In June 1959, she underwent new sea trials. The ship was very popular. She was sold January of 1972. After another refit, which changed her tonnage to 23,801 tons, the TSS Regina became the flagship of Chandris Cruises and inaugurated her Mediterranean service, calling at Limassol for the first time on May 19 and taking passengers from Cyprus to Beirut, Haifa, Heraklion, Piraeus, Katakolon, Corfu, Dubrovnik and Venice. Regina continued calling at Limassol regularly every two weeks and her cruises became extremely popular. She cruised the world until 1974, when she was laid up in Piraeus because of rising fuel costs and the loss of emigration charters to Australia. She later sank while being towed to the breakers.
