Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Good-
$115
First issue 'S' kit dated 1958 that includes a factory-wrapped 4" long never used tube of colorful Revell 'S' Cement. The metal tube is in amazing 'near mint' condition and is not the usual small size issued with the early kits. As with most all Revell early ship kits, the model is finely molded and very well detailed. It measures about 15 inches long when assembled and features full detail on the top two decks, all cannons, complete deck fittings, prefabricated rat lines, vac sails, full standing and running rigging material, display stand and much more. The model has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, flags, sails, thread and instructions present. The sails are in remarkable 'near mint' condition. Also includes the excellent booklet 'The Story of Ships' and an order form for 'The Dawning Space Age' book. Please NOTE that the box is only 'good-' due to clear packing tape at the two lower corners and a closed corner split at the upper left; there is also general wear and scuffs. The anchor stocks of this kit have molded-on rings; more often than not, the rings are either short shot or broken off; this kit is no exception.

Original issue 4-Star kit from 1961. The box is in 'excellent' condition with like new color and gloss and four solid corners. Now rotate the propeller CW and the gear extends. Push the propeller in, and it freewheels as normal. 1961 issue in an 'excellent' grade box. Done in a big 1/16 scale, this kit and the other 'Old Timers' in the series represented a significant leap forward in quality for Aurora. It features full suspension, transaxle and driveline detail, rolling chassis build up like the real car, full exhaust, detailed interior and more. Molded in gloss ivory, gloss black, clear and with chrome plated parts and real rubber tires. The kit has never been started. The black parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bag. The ivory and clear parts were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions. Aurora was renowned for turning a profit and for keeping expenses down. In researching new kit subjects, they came upon a forgotten jewel - the Hudson Miniatures line of 1/16 scale wooden kits. Hudson had discontinued this line due to lack of sales of wooden kits. But the Hudson models were second to none in quality, research and documentation. Aurora was quick to realize this and used the research and layout from these kits to create the subjects for this 'Old Timers' series. It is fortunate for us that they did, because in most cases this is the only injection molded kit of these rare and classic early automobiles.

Very rare first issue dated 1959 with 'Famous Fighters' logo in the oval sunburst. This is the only scale plastic kit ever made of a Privateer. Privateers were actually civilian ships manned by private citizens. The early US Government gave the ships "letters of marque" and they were free to raid English shipping interests with the blessing of the US Government. Approximately 500 were in service until the practice was abolished. Although they were technically successful in raiding British shipping, the British soon blockaded the US ports and almost shut down the import/export trade. this is a very well detailed kit for the time and an excellent effort by Aurora. Features full hull, complete deck fittings with separately molded cannon, anchors, fife rails, ship's boats, bilge pump, tiller & more, masts with separately molded cross trees, yards & gaffs, pre-molded rat lines, vacuformed billowing sails (in 'near mint+' condition), detailed rigging diagrams for standing & running rigging and more. Molded in wood tan and black plastic. The kit has never been started. Inside, it is exactly as it left the factory. The black parts are still in the factory sealed bag; the brown parts were never factory sealed and are inventoried complete. Includes color US Flag sheet, instructions in 'excellent++' condition and even the original factory tissue packing paper. The sails are in amazing 'near mint' condition.

1963 issue with Jo Kotula artwork. This kit was part of Aurora's very popular and successful 1/48 WWI series. The line started in 1956 and was expanded through the 1960s. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. This is the second issue because the box side logos does not have 'Famous Fighters' in the border of the logos. Thank to Dusty Rhodes for pointing out that the decals are for serial 419/15, Bayerische Feldflieger Abteiling 9, Autumn 1915.

In the mid 1950s, Aurora bought three 'Knight' molds from Crown Plastics and issued them as K1, K2 and K3. These were the very first Aurora figure kits. The early Aurora 'Northern Lights' logo has the correct 'Crown Line' logo inside it. Inside, the kit is mint. The shiny, very dark blue plastic parts are still sealed in the factory bag. Even the red feather plume is present and in 'excellent' condition. The instructions are correct with the Crown logo in the Aurora logo and they are in amazing 'near mint' condition. The box has wear as shown; there are a few litho chips on the upper edge, light corner wear and very general, light even wear.

This model is in an amazing, investment-grade 'Near Mint+' box. It is dated 1957, but from the mid 1960s due to the oval logo with the blue outline. This small scale kit with dramatic Jo Kotula box artwork is nicely molded with clear canopy, full landing gear and a display stand. This is a model of the very early YF-102 prototype with the straight (non-area rule) fuselage. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Around this time, Aurora issued a series of inexpensive (usually 29 cent) small scale kits that were designed to sell at almost any type of retail location. The line was very successful and quickly expanded. When Aurora purchased the Comet molds, those kits fit in nicely with this established line.

1958 first issue with fantastic Jo Kotula boxart. This is the Parents' Magazine issue with the seal located in the lower right. In the day this was considered a fine kit and rated highly in reviews. The F4B-4 was a classic 1930s Navy Biplane Fighter that is still famous for their colorful paint jobs at that that time. Cowl, tail and trim color would vary with the group's Aircraft Carrier (Ranger, Lexington or Saratoga) and the aircraft's position in the flight formation. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
