Rare and still factory sealed. This very dard-to-find kit is dated 1991 and represents the Shangri-La in her post-refit with the angled flight deck. Nicely molded full-hull kit features 127 pieces, rudder & propeller detail, positionable elevators, separately molded AA guns, boats and boat cranes, mobile aircraft deck crane and tugs, detailed island and an airwing of A-1E Skyraiders, Cougars, S-2 Trackers, A-4D Skyhawks, F-4B Phantom IIs and 2 helicopters. Includes decals, flag sheet and instructions. Decals are extensive and included for hull (draft marks), island, flight deck and the air wing as well.

Features detailed engine with two 4 bbl carburetors, dual quad manifold, s/s exhaust headers, M&H cheater slicks, front drag tires and dual electric fuel pumps, engine compartment detail and firewall, opening hood, complete interior and molded-in chassis detail. Molded in white, clear, red-tinted clear, chrome and with rubber tires. Chrome is excellent. NOTE: this kit has minor, 'professional' quality subassembly as follows: front grille assembled and detail painted. There is no other assembly or painting. Grill detailing is superb. The Gamma was designed by John Northrop and was considered very advanced in 1933. The airplane was an instant success. Texaco took delivery of the first one and set numerous cross-country speed records, in addition to being a crowd favorite at air shows. Dr. Lincoln Ellsworth used a Gamma in 1935 for a successful Trans-Antarctic Flight in the 'Polar Star'. This aircraft now rests in the Smithsonian. Gammas were also flown by Howard Hughes and Jacqueline Cochran. The model is very nicely molded and detailed and can build one of two versions of the Sky Chief (Phase I or III) or one of two versions of the Polar Star (Phase I or II)and includes all optional parts required to do so including two different engines, cowlings, nose sections, two and three blade propellers, canopies, one and two seat cockpits and tail wheels as required. Includes an extensive Micro-Scale color decal sheet for two versions each of the Polar Star and Sky Chief. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Very rare original issue from late 1961/62. This model features parts to build any one of the three versions listed, full interior, opening hood, detailed engine, engine compartment with firewall, battery, radiator and washer jar and molded underside detail. Molded in a gloss light gray, chrome plate, clear, red tinted clear and with rubber white sidewall tires, metal axles and metal body screws. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried with all car parts 100% complete and photocopied instructions. NOTE: missing decals and the original instructions. These photocopied instructions are from a photo and not the originals; they are perfect for doing an inventory of the kit or building the model, but the original source photos was only 'good+'. The box displays slightly better than the 'good-' grade but is rated as such because there is more bug damage to the litho on the sides than the top.
