1/96 H1805-498 Revell Space Station 'S' Kit

The Holy Grail of 1950s space models and of all the Revell kits. First and only issue dated 1959 of this large kit. The molds have been damaged which prevents a reissue. Box condition is 'Excellent +' which is very rare. Color and gloss are fantastic and there are no stains, torn or missing litho, no price tags or tag marks and not even any factory sealing tape or marks (this box somehow missed the tape sealing machine). The only flaws are light creases and very light surface wear, very light edge wear and two closed split corners which have been carefully and correctly repaired from the inside with book binding glue. This is a highly detailed model with many moving parts. Includes main space station with opening walls, airlocks, rotating top and bottom sections, rotating radar assembly and fully detailed interior which includes sleeping quarters, living quarters, operations and laboratory areas, terrestrial and celestial observations rooms, conference and dining rooms and more. Also includes 4 other space ships that can be docked/un-docked and displayed with the space station - maintenance vehicle, space taxi, research vehicle and space ship with airlock. The special large clear display stand is included. The model is molded in the correct silver, teal green, black, orange and clear plastic. Includes decals, instructions. The decals are in 'excellent' condition and the instructions are 'near mint'. The decal application guide sheet is 'excellent+++.' The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all plastic parts, decals and instructions present. NOTE: missing 'space station operating manual' booklet; I do have a perfect high-resolution, full color PDF scan of an original if the purchaser would like that. One part, the fragile orange 'tripod' #59 has one leg broken which often happens. All parts are there so you can repair this part. This kit must be shipped insured.
