Heller Bloch 174 A3, 1/72, 80312

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc

$22

Still factory sealed. The Bloch 174 was an all-around excellent reconnaissance bomber that first flew in January of 1939. By the time of the German Invasion, only 50 had been made and only one unit operated the aircraft exclusively. Their performance allowed the existing 174s to be used extensively with little losses. After the Armistice, it continued to operate with the Vichy forces. Some saw action along side the Allies during TORCH in North Africa.

Aurora P-38 Lightning Brooklyn - Famous Fighters of All Nations, 1/48, 99-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$425

First issue early 1950s from the Aurora Brooklyn factory. Molded with correct light gloss blue and clear plastic with correct Brooklyn stand, decals and instructions. Even has original packing tissue paper. Decals are in beautiful condition and are still flat. Box is excellent with light scuffing as the only flaws. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The Aurora issues of the 1/48 scale P-38 are interesting to say the least. The first issue is the Brooklyn kit with the P-38/B-24 box artwork. Inside, the plastic is light blue with minimal surface detail and a clear canopy and rectangular stand that says 'Aurora Plastic Corp. Brooklyn, 4, N.Y.'. There are no landing gear, gear doors or mass balances. The second issue has identical box art, plastic color, decals and rectangular stand, but the box and instructions says 'West Hempstead' instead of Brooklyn. The clear stand mold has had 'Brooklyn' milled out, and there is no location on the stand. The third issue has the same artwork, but the full color 'Aurora Line' logo is used - but the big changes were on the inside. Aurora modified the molds, adding a pitot tube, elevator mass balances and landing gear struts, wheels and doors. The decals and stand remain the same, but the new instructions reflect the changes to the molds. This time the kit is molded in an attractive metallic blue. The fourth issue dropped the Jim Cox artwork in favor of a new P-38 flying from right to left across a threatening sky. The plastic still metallic light blue and the decals and stand remain unchanged. The new details were retained. The fifth issue was 1959. The oval 'Famous Fighters' logo was used with Jo Kotula artwork of two P-38s. The detail level of the kit remained the same, but it was molded in olive drab and clear. The newer 'Triangle' base was added at this time. Further issues kept this box artwork, but the oval logo changed as well as the price extensions.

OldModelKits SS Normandie Ocean Liner - 1935, 1/350

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$950

Finally! A museum-quality 1/350 scale model kit of the SS Normandie - The World's Most Beautiful Ocean Liner. This nine-year project is a 100% new kit. Seven of those years were spent accurately modeling the ship from scratch in TurboCAD. All design work was done in CAD by Ken Friend, a master modeler and engineer who specialized in CAD/CAM/CAE Systems Management and Implementation. This limited-run kit represents the Normandie from her 1935 maiden voyage to New York and has over 1,000 individual parts. The hull and larger parts are pressure-cast resin from de-aired molds. There is one very large photoetched brass sheet for railings, ladders & fine details, a set of ultra-high resolution 3D printed davits, three sheets of laser-cut, real wood printed decking (from ScaleDecks), decals, flag sheet and a DVD with detailed, highly illustrated instructions including painting guide, step-by-step rigging instructions and research material. This is a previously owned kit; I sold this model years back and then purchased the buyers entire estate. The kit has never been started. This model has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions included. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.

Aurora Boeing B-29 Superfortress, 1/76, 372-350

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

$165

Still factory sealed. Rare and even rarer in this condition. Aurora of Canada issue is dated 1964 and this issue retaining the same artwork as the 1956 issue. There is no fading or stains, tape or price tags, but there is light crease along the upper left side. Responding to market information that boys wanted larger kits, Aurora introduced the B-26 followed by the B-29 and B-25, all of which sold well for many years- almost right up until the end.
