Master Modelcraft Supply Co Superfortress B-29 - 17 Inch Wingspan

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

From about 1944. This is a deluxe solid wood model with a big 17" wingspan. It features beautiful, completely carved hardwood fuselage (correct down to the wing fillets and all navigation & gun bumps and blisters), 2D (profile) cut-to-shape balsa wings & tail feathers, four nacelle blocks, wood and metal stock as required, celluloid for windows, completely finished main and nose wheels, a glass bottle of factory liquid (paint or glue), four cast metal four-blade propellers, color insignia, sandpaper, full size plans with numerous templates for the wings, fuselage and horizontal stabilizers and even a large, fold-out detail blue-print of the aircraft for super-detailing your kit and even a photo of a real B-29. Even the original tissue packing paper is still present. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Master Modelcraft Supply Company made wooden model aircraft and ships and listed their address as N.Y. 66, New York during the early 1950s. The amazing 'Sculp-Turned Senior' kits by Master Modelcraft had all of the hard work done because the fuselage was very accurately finished and ready to assembled. Other kits in this series included the B-17 (12.5" WS), P-38 (13"), North American Mustang P-51 (14"), Vought Sikorsky Corsair (14.75"), P-47 Thunderbolt (15.25"), Hellcat F6F (14.5"), DH Mosquito (14.5"), B-26 Marauder (15") and Boston Havoc A-20 (15.5"). The B-17 was $2 and all others were $3. For $4, you could buy any of these kits with fully carved engine nacelles. There was a Sculp-Turned Junior line, also known as "De-Luxe" on the box. These included the following $1.25 kits: Hellcat, P-47, F4U and P-51.
