Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

Well detailed and cleanly molded older kit. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag including decals and instructions. During the mid 1930s the Czech Air Force became aware of a need for a modern bomber aircraft. In order to shorten production times, they decided to look abroad for designs that could be built in-country. The French were cooperative but the bomber choices were not as the Czechs had hoped for. However, they settled on the MB-200 all metal high wing monoplane. Some copies were delivered assembled, but most were produced in state by Aero and afforded an excellent learning experience with all metal aircraft production. The airplane served well during the late 1930s, but was obsolete for WWII. The Germans distributed many to Romania and Bulgaria.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

Sold

SALE!! Includes two never-started model kits that have been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Each limited run, cleanly injection molded models features 47 parts, (2) AA-3 missiles and Soviet decals for all most any fuselage number. Realizing the inherent shortcomings of the Sukhoi Su-9, Sukhoi began work on and upgraded version in the late 1950s. It first flew in 1961 and earned the NATO reporting name Fishpot C. Su-11 had a more powerful radar ("Skip Spin" to NATO), a much more powerful Lyulka AL-7F-1 engine and R-98 missiles to replace the questionable K-5s. Of the pair carried, one was infra-red and the other beam riding. Production began in 1962 and about 100 aircraft total were produced. Sukhoi OKB was not satisfied with the Su-11 and considered the Su-15 Flagon to be superior. However, the Su-11 continued in service until about 1983, under the Soviet policy of more (even if obsolete) is better.

It has been very carefully inventoried and the actual injection molded ship parts are all present but NOTE: MISSING all sails, decals and flag. Three chain plates are complete with minor breaks to a few small parts. One is complete with one big break (in half). Two are 90 to 95% complete but shattered into many parts. These chain plates can be made since the geometry is simple, but it would be time consuming and tedius.

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed VG++

Sold

Still factory sealed but the seal has splits. From the early to mid 1970s. Large scale issue for rubber or gas free flight, or easily converted to RC using today's tiny and light servos and receivers. Box art is by Locher, who did a great deal of the Monogram box artwork also. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction with all die cut parts, 'Tube-O-Matic' fuselage construction and 'Rugged Super X Simplified Non-Warping Wing' construction, colorful insignia sheet for civil or US Army versions, detailed full size plans with building instructions, die-cut printwood, factory-cut stripwood with leading and trailing wing edges, fully formed and finished wooden main and tail wheels & thrust button, hardware, tissue and plastic propeller. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Sterling Fokker D-8 Drops Twin Bombs in Flight - 21 Inch Wingspan for RC / Free Flight / Control Line - (D-VIII), A16

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

21 inch wingspan kit for RC, free flight or control line. Includes innovative system for automatically dropping twin bombs in flight. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they featured color decals, high-grade die cut balsa, vacuform plastic detail parts, plastic wheels (if required), finished wire landing gear, rubber motor and plastic prop, full size plans with instruction details and full instructions for conversion to RC or control line. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. The parts that were not factory sealed have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions.

This is a very nice and well detailed model for that time featuring 'Tube-O-Matic' fuselage construction, 'Rugged Super X Simplified Non-Warping Wing' light-weight plastic nose cowl, spinner, wheel pants, bomb, radiators (under wing and chin), machine gun and more, beautiful clear vacuformed 'greenhouse' canopy (in great condition, not yellowed), completely formed metal gear struts, finished wheels and nose button, plywood firewall, all die-cut balsawood, factory-cut stripwood and leading & trailing wing edges, covering tissue, very colorful and comprehensive insignia sheet, detailed full size plans with building instructions and more. The model has not been started. The small parts are still the factory sealed bag, while the parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others.
