Aoshima Grumman F7F Tigercat, 1/72, G6-501-500

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$34

Interesting early Tigercat kit from Aoshima with beautiful high-gloss box art. This model is from original molds and is not from or a copy of the Monogram molds. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag including decals and instructions.

Pyro 1932 Chrysler La Baron Phaeton Imperial Chassis V-8, 1/32, C413

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$36

1966 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. Features detailed chassis and suspension, spoked wheels, complete motor and interior and a removable hood. Molded in colored, clear and chrome plated plastic with real rubber tires. This kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions.

Strombecker Lockheed VTO XFV-1 Vertical Take-Off Fighter, 1/72, C50-89

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

$95

Strombecker was famous as the premier hardwood preshaped model manufacturer before plastic kits were introduced. In the 1940s and 1950s, Strombecker kits were flawlessly engineered but not inexpensive. All wooden parts are hardwood and are precarved to shape - usually only a quick sanding would finish them. This kit is hardwood with many plastic injection molded parts, so it was produced in the transition from wood to plastic. The prop hubs, spinner, tip tanks and fuselage are wood, while the wings, prop blades, scoop and tank fins are red plastic while the canopy is injection molded in clear. Full color decals are furnished as well as a "Join the Strombecker Model-Makers Club" brochure. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals, instructions, sandpaper, sanding stick and club form present.

The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Ideal Aeroplane & Supply SS America Ocean Liner / Troop Ship USS West Point / S.S. Australis - Wooden Ship Kit, 1/330, 605

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$425

Very rare and an excellent example. Large wooden and metal kit builds to just over 26 inches long. This model is of the SS America Ocean Liner, which was designed by the famous naval architect William Francis Gibbs. She was laid down in 1938 and entered service on August 22 1940 as the flagship of the United States Lines. World War II interrupted her passenger service. The ship was active through the war. She narrowly escaped being sunk off Singapore during the Japanese invasion. After the war she resumed her North Atlantic route. The liner was the pride of the US Merchant fleet before the USS United States was commissioned. When the 'Big U' entered service, the two liners were stable mates and often appeared in the same travel agency posters and prints. By 1964 aircraft had taken a large section of the ocean liner travelers away, and the America was sold to Chandris Group and was renamed the Australis. She sailed for 14 years in a very successful career and was the last liner to sail from Southampton to Australia/New Zealand. She was laid up in 1977. She changed owners several times, but was never again successful. While being towed to Thailand, the lines broke and she ran aground in the Canary Islands, where the wreck broke up after time - but not before the locals rescued many items from the ship. The model box is very good and the kit inside is in as-new condition. Features pre-carved hull, metal fittings, very large full size plans, print wood and heavy cardstock, clear material for windows, color flag sheet, building instructions with perspective views and rigging material and diagrams. Never started. I believe that I was the first one to remove the parts from the box when I performed the inventory. All of the fittings are either still in factory sealed bags or inventoried complete. The parts that were never sealed are 100% complete including plans. You can convert it to the USS West Point if you have photos of the ship (which are on the internet) - the main difference is the addition of lifeboats and different paint. Photos of the S.S. Australis will provide the needed data to convert her to that ship, but this conversion will require more work than the West Point. Please NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured. The travel agency poster does NOT come with the kit and is used for illustrative purposes only.

Planet Models Breda 44 - Italian Air Force or Paraguay Chaco War 1934, 1/72, 048

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$42

Very highly detailed resin cast kit with clear parts. Includes cockpit interior, paint guide and decals for Italy or rare Paraguay Air Force version. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The Breda 44 looked much like the DH Dragon. The '44 was a light transport built in 1934 and carried 6 passengers. It saw limited use in Italy and a number were transported to Paraguay during the Chaco War with Bolivia in 1934.

Aurora Focke-Wulf FW-190, 1/47, 30-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$169

Dated 1960. The box is in beautiful 'Excellent++' condition. The only flaws are very light wear marks and the scratch in the B-17 at engine #3. Notice the 'Sunburst' logo with no 'Famous Fighters' in the oval, which dates this kit closer to the mid 1960s. Molded in black and clear with the clear triangular 'globe' display stand. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The decals are in amazing 'near mint' condition with the only flaw being very slight yellowing. The instructions are in 'excellent' condition with typical yellowing and very slight edge wear.

Aurora Sopwith Camel, 1/47, 102-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

$48

Rare early 1960s issue. This release has turned up less than any of the other issues and was only made for a year or two at the most before the new artwork release. This is the only issue with the full, original artwork due to the 'transparent' new simplified oval logo at the lower right. The side logos do not have 'Famous Fighters' in the border. One side has the original printed '102-79' part number while the other end has a factory-applied '100' sticker over the 79. Molded in the correct gloss olive drab and black plastic and with the chock ground base and pilot & mechanic figures. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the box displays much closer to 'Excellent++' but is graded lower because there is a small tape pull on the lower long side and some missing litho at the right short side.

AMT 1954 Pontiac 2 Door Hardtop Promo, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

$32

Sale Pending
Email for availability.

Original dealer promotional model. Like all originals, it has a natural aluminum metal chassis with no markings and metal front & rear bumpers and hood and trunk bright trim as well. The body has very good color and gloss and shown. This is a celluloid plastic body, but it is surprisingly straight; there is some warping, but it is better than 90% of the survivors. I have seen this model mint in the box with no windshield and with windshields; this one does not have one. The silver trim has been painted to 'excellent++' quality by the previous owner. This was a friction motor car but the previous owner removed the friction motor (but kept the original chassis, axles and even the drive gear). The box is not original.

AMT 1957 Ford Thunderbird Promo, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

$28

Original dealer promotional model from 1956 for the '57 year. Like all originals, it has a black painted, metal chassis that is stamped "AMT INC Birmingham Mich." The body has very good color and gloss and shown. Clear windshield is excellent. This is a celluloid plastic body, but amazingly there is only minimal warping. The silver trim has been painted to 'professional' quality by the previous owner. It looks better than most factory painted trim on other promos. This was a friction motor car but the previous owner removed the friction motor (but kept the original chassis, axles and even the drive gear). The box is not original.
