NOTE: good builder only, please read carefully for the condition. Dated 1993 but the molds pre-date that. Well detailed for that time with 166 parts. Features opening bomb bay doors with full bomb load, rotating wheels and props and optional Hs 293 Guided Missiles. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: one propeller is missing a blade; I have included another propeller with all four blades (although they are slightly misaligned and will need to be bent back to look right.) The decals are flat and intact but have stains to the backing paper; I believe they have been exposed to moisture and are most likely damaged.

The Yawata Maru was one of a class of Japanese ocean liners that were built for the Nippon Yusen KK line. She was launched on October 31, 1939 from her builder, Mitsubishi Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. at Nagasaki. She did see peacetime service as an ocean liner for a short period. After war was declared, Yawata Maru was rebuilt at Kure Naval Yard as the Taiyo-class escort carrier Unyo. She had a very active war career but was sunk by two torpedoes from USS Barb on September 17, 1944.

The Hikawa Maru was one of a class of three Japanese ocean liners that were built for the Nippon Yusen KK line. She was launched in September 1929 from her builder, the Yokohama Dock Company. Her two sisters did not survive the war. Hikawa Maru served as a Hospital Ship in WWII, survived the war, and is restored today and can be visited in Japan - she is one (with the Queen Mary) of the very few existing 1930s ocean liners.

Still factory sealed. Rare and even rarer in this condition. Aurora USA issue retains the same artwork as the 1956 issue. From the logo style, this example dates from about 1965, although the copyright date for the artwork still says 1956. This kit has arguably the most dramatic and fanciful B-29 composition from the 'Golden Era' of modeling box art. Note the square 'Northern Lights' logo has been replaced with the Aurora sunburst oval logo. There are no seal splits, fading or stains, tape or price tags, but there is very light crease at top center. Responding to market information that boys wanted larger kits, Aurora introduced the B-26 followed by the B-29 and B-25, all of which sold well for many years, almost right up until the end.

These first cruise missile launchers reached operational status and limited success in operations. Missions went well but the accuracy of the V-1 was the primary limitation.
