1971 reissue of the famous 'S' kit. The box retains the "S" artwork but has pictures of other ships on the side. Full hull model features propeller and rudder detail, moving elevators, crane & antenna booms, an airwing of 18 with helicopters, A3D Skywarriors, FJ Furys, F7U Cutlass and Banshee aircraft, complete main AA armament, gun directors, detailed island structure with radars, display stand and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the decal sheet is missing two tiny 'stars and bars' national insignia. Otherwise complete. Please note that Starfighter decals makes an superb, brand-new decal sheet for this model that is a big improvement over the original. Also, please note that this box is only rated 'fair' due to heavy wear and tear.

Highly detailed and finely molded 1/700 scale waterline model that includes air wing. Never started. All parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. IJN Taiyo began life as the NYK ocean liner Kasuga Maru. Kasuga Maru was one of a class of three Japanese ocean liners that were built for the Nippon Yusen K line. She was launched in September 1940 and saw very little or no service (accounts vary) as a transport before her conversion to the escort carrier Taiyo. Given the size and machinery of this class of liner, the IJN subsidized their construction and knew they would make fine escort carriers. The Taiyo went on to have a very active career. She was attacked many times and damaged several times. Taiyo was eventually sunk in a submarine attack in August 1944 with a heavy loss of life by the USS Rasher.

1986 issue with very high mold quality. Very large (1/72 scale) model of the famous convoy escort ship from WWII. Very highly detailed with 1003 pieces. Has parts and decals to build any of the three ships listed. Includes display stand, 15 crew members, steel chain, fabric signal flags, rigging material and instructions, complete assembly book and complete color painting book with the history of all three ships. Never started. All the parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The bag with the clear and brown parts had a large tear, so I opened it up and inventoried everything in that bag; it is all complete. All paperwork is still factory sealed also.

Features removable body panels, completely detailed engine and chassis, wide racing tire, steerable front wheels and authentic McLaren markings for Bruce McLaren or Denny Hulme. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. The chrome and clear parts were never factory sealed and have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions. Chrome plating is in excellent condition. Please NOTE: decals are badly stained; you will need provide your own markings. Instructions are stained but still 100% usable for assembly.

Beautiful kit from the 1950s made of quality hardwood - no balsa. The carving is done to the final shape. When complete it makes an impressive model and comes with a unique display stand. Features all carved and smooth wood parts, clear plastic canopy, full color decals, glue, wood filler, sandpaper and special display stand. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and plans. Before plastic kits were introduced, Strombecker was famous as the premier hardwood preshaped model manufacturer. In the 1940s and 1950s, Strombecker kits were flawlessly engineered but not inexpensive. All wooden parts are hardwood and are precarved to shape - you only had to glue, sand and paint to finish them.

Older issue in the cardboard box with 'Cleveland World Famous Models' printed in silver. From around 1937-1942. This is a Cleveland model in museum scale of 1/16. All Cleveland kits were exceptionally complete and this one is no exception. This kit is specifically designed as a scale model with retractable landing gear. However, if you do wish to fly it, additional instructions are provided on the necessary modifications. Features very high quality balsa printwood and strip wood, covering material, highest quality plans, all parts required for assembly and decals (if issued with the kit). The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. NOTE: there is light bug damage to some paperwork. The Cleveland Model and Supply Company played a pivotal role in the development of true scale models. In 1909 Bleriot's English Channel flight caused a surge in aviation and model aircraft around the globe. Several companies were ideally positioned to take advantage of the aviation craze. In the USA, Wading River Manufacturing Co. (1909), White Aeroplane (1911), Ideal Model Aeroplane (1911), Broadfield Model Aeroplanes (1919) were among these pioneers, offering everything from plans and parts to complete kits and ARF models. Lindbergh's 1927 crossing of the Atlantic Ocean caused an even bigger world-wide phenomenon called "The Aviation Craze" that extended up to the start of World War II. Many companies such as Megow, Guillow's and others started right around the time of Lindbergh's flight. Some of these models flew and flew well, but they all had one thing in common - were generally not accurate scale representations. In 1929, a youngster named Ed Packard had a very advanced dream- to produce incredibly accurate, true scale models that flew perfectly. This radical idea established the world's longest running single-owner (77 years) model airplane business- Cleveland Model and Supply Company. To this day, Cleveland models are treasured as the most accurate flying scale models produced. The fact that Mr. Packard started and successfully grew this business during The Great Depression is a testament to his ideals and business skill. I highly suggest the excellent book called 'Aviation's great Recruiter- Cleveland's Ed Packard' by H.L. (Herm) Schreiner. It is an excellent history of the man, his company and the times of the Golden Age of Model Aviation.
