Monogram Boeing B-52D Stratrofortress With Jet Sound, 1/72, PA215

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

Sold

First issue of this legendary kit with the box in very rare 'excellent+' condition. It has like-new gloss and color, four solid corners, no repairs, no tape (other than the small bits of factory tape on the two long sides), no fading, no tears and no missing litho. The flaws include corner wear at th top left, very light isolated general wear and a very, very light stain along the left vertical edge and left short end panel. 1968 model includes realistic electric 'Jet Sound'. Inside, the rare yellow-cardboard-framed cello window is in 'excellent' condition and the cello window is 100% intact. Under it, the white printed cardboard display presentation is still present and in 'factory new' condition and even includes the rare yellow parts spacer box under the white cardboard. The instructions, B-52 Book and decals are present and in very good condition. By this time Monogram was no longer includes the glue, so it is not present. The model features excellent detail, 207 pieces, a crew of three, detailed cockpit, elevating and traversing rear turret, opening and closing bomb bay doors, operating wing flaps, operating spoilers, optional position entry hatch & landing gear, optional parts to display one nacelle open to show the jet engine and more. Never started. The electric motor and Jet Sound hardware are still in the factory sealed bag. The other parts were never factory sealed and have been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Monogram Boeing B-52 Stratofortress with Jet Sound, 1/72, PA215

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Sold

First issue dated 1968 of this legendary kit that features realistic 'Jet Sound.' Well detailed with 207 parts. Features crew of three and cockpit, elevating and traversing rear turret, opening and closing bomb bay doors, operating wing flaps, operating spoilers, optional position entry hatch and landing gear, and optional parts to display one nacelle open to show the jet engine. When you open the box, the original yellow frame with clear cello is still intact and 'excellent'. The white printed cardboard display presentation is still present and in 'new' condition. The instructions, B-52 Book and decals are present and in 'excellent' condition as well. The kit has never been started. The motor and hardware are still in the factory sealed bag. The plastic parts, which were never factory sealed, have been inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The box displays better than the 'very good++' grade but I have rated it as such because there is a very, very light stain on the middle left of the box top between the wing and horizontal stabilizer and also on the left short side.

Contrail Vickers Armstrong Warwick, 1/72

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

Very rare and the only model ever made of this aircraft. Designed for Air Ministry specification B.1/35 for a two-engined heavy bomber, the Warwick was to replace the Wellington and used the same sturdy geodetic 'basket weave' construction. However, the prototype orders were canceled in 1936 to concentrate on four-engine bombers. Vickers completed two of the prototypes anyway. RAF Coastal Command liked what it saw and eventually 712 Warwicks were produced and used for transports, air-sea rescue, meteorological recon and anti-submarine work. One saw use as a BOAC Transport and the aircraft was used by the Air Forces of Poland and South Africa. The model features well molded vac parts with numerous injection molded details. Alternate parts are included to build prototype CIII, BI., ASR I, ASR (B Mod), GR V and GR II. With full decals for many aircraft including the BOAC version and large painting/markings guide sheet with many photos of actual aircraft. The kit has never been started. The small parts are still in the factory sealed bags; the larger parts were never factory sealed and have been inventoried complete. Please note that vacuform models are only recommended for those experienced with their constructions. Certain skills, including scratchbuilding, are required. They are not for beginners.

Monogram B-52 Stratofortress with Jet Sound - Vietnam Camouflage Issue - With All Internal Packing Material And Seal Frame, 1/72, PA215

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Sold

Rare 1969 issue has Vietnam-style boxart on a high-gloss box. It is even rarer to find this kit with all the cardboard and correct paperwork present. This is the 2nd release of this kit and the last with rare 'Jet Sound.' These models were designed with a major selling point - an internal parts display that could be seen by potential modelers at the store. While at your local hobby shop, you could lift the box top off and underneath was a fantastic display, all sealed by a yellow cardboard framed sheet of clear cellophane. This kit contains the yellow frame in 'good' condition and the cello is intact. Under the frame, all cardboard presentation is still 'near mint' and even includes the inner colored cardboard spacer. At this point (1969), Monogram had ceased making 'Monoglue', so the B-52 presentation cardboard usually had no glue; this one is no exception. Contains 207 parts. Very nicely detailed. Features crew of three, detailed cockpit, elevating and traversing rear turret, opening and closing bomb bay doors, operating wing flaps, operating spoilers, optional position entry hatch and landing gear, and optional parts to display one nacelle open to show the jet engine and of course battery-powered realistic Jet Sound. Molded in the correct dark green and clear. It has never been started. The metal and electrical hardware for "Jet Sounds" are still factory sealed. The other parts have been inventoried complete with decals, instructions, B-52 booklet and instructions present. Please NOTE that box displays better than the 'good++' rating but I graded it as such because there is tape residue on the bottom of the four side panels and has one closed split corner.

Lindberg US Space Station - First Issue, 1/350, 1002-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Very rare first issue from the 1950s and one in a series of very early science fiction kits with fantastic box art. Lindberg marketed the world's first plastic Sci-Fi kit, the UFO, and must have been encouraged by the results because they issued an entire series of fictitious but 'closer to real' space vehicles after the UFO. Molded in gloss white plastic and red-tinted clear. Never started. The actual Space Station itself has been inventoried complete; but NOTE: the stand base and the small metal stand rod are both missing. Otherwise includes all other parts, decals and instructions. A small part of the decals was once stuck to the instructions in one small area; one transfer is affected and there is a small hole and small tear in the instructions. The box displays better than the 'good' grade but is rated as such because of the creasing at the top center and top box side.

Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and the aircraft and crew disappeared without trace. The Squadron lost 4 aircraft on this mission.
