Features 192 pieces, recessed panel lines, excellent cockpit and full interior and inside 'basket weave' framing, detailed wheel wells, excellent bomb bay, optional position bay doors, separately molded ailerons and much more. With a paint guide and decals for two aircraft. NOTE: this kit has superbly executed 'professional' quality subassembly as follows: #1 small engine front to engine; (4) horizontal stabilizer halves; 11 interior panels to the inside of the fuselage halves; (2) wing support boxes to outer fuselage halves; (1) turret has 4 pcs assembled; cockpit and cabin assembled. This is the original late 1950s issue with fantastic Ray Gaedke box art and a fine kit for that time. In 1931, Post and Gatty flew the Vega 'Winnie Mae' around the world in 8 days, 15 hours and 8 minutes for a new world record. In 1933 Post tested a gyroscope automatic pilot and radio direction finder in another record flight lasting 7 days, 18 hours and 45 minutes. This aircraft is now in the Smithsonian Museum. the Lockheed Vega did see military service, with a few operated by the RAAF, Spanish Republic Air Force and USAAC. This model features moving control surfaces, cockpit detail, rotating propeller and wheels and more. Includes a clear display stand and very colorful and complete Winnie Mae decals. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
