Hasegawa Sopwith Camel - 1/8 Scale Museum Model - (F.1 Camel), 1/8, CP-02

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

Sold

This is a very rare and large 1/8 scale museum quality kit. The three 1/8 aircraft in this series are widely considered to be the finest model aircraft ever produced. This one duplicates the classic Sopwith Camel using many of the original materials in a near perfect representation of the inner structure of the aircraft. There are 1,198 parts made from die-cut plywood, Japanese cypress, cast soft metal, brass, aluminum, rubber, injection molded plastic and many other materials. The wingspan is 1067mm (42 inches) when assembled. The engineering of the kit is world-class right down to the assembly plans. Inside, the kit has never been started. All original packing materials are in 'mint' condition and all parts are still sealed in the factory parts bags. Includes all plans, decals, instructions and paperwork. As an added precaution, I have carefully done a 'bag' inventory - all parts bags are present and factory sealed. Please note, this item must be shipped insured. NOTE: this kit comes in the original factory cardboard shipping box (not shown). It will be shipped in this box unless you specify differently. Additional shipping costs will apply if you wish to have it place in yet another (second) shipping box.

Aurora Boeing KC-135 Jet Stratotanker, 1/125, 143-129

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

1974 Aurora of Canada issue from ex-Comet molds. This is the largest of the two Comet molds and has clear cockpit & cabin windows and full landing gear. Molded in gloss silver and clear. This model was given a clear Aurora two piece 'triangle world' stand, unlike many of the other Comet kits which only had a modified version of their original stands included. Of course this is not the production KC-135 but a model of the Boeing prototype. Just like the box art, it does not have a 'tanker' rear end or boom. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the box displays better than 'good' but it graded as such because the two scuffs on the right wing are actually closed holes in the box top.

Airfix Great Western Ocean Liner, 1/180, X882-1800

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

Large scale Airfix Japan issue. The Great Western was the first ship specifically built for the Atlantic Ferry Service and was designed by I.K. Brunel (who designed the Great Eastern). When launched in 1837, she carried 120 first class, 20 second class, and beds could be set up for an additional 100 if needed. The crew was 60 men. The first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean was in April of 1838 and took just over 15 days. After crossing the Atlantic 64 times, she ran for 10 years between Southampton and the West Indies before being broken up in 1857. Never started and the parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes preformed ratlines, rigging materials, color flag sheet, 'near mint' billowing vac sails and instructions.

Highly detailed with full interior and for decades it was the finest 1/48 B-17 model ever produced. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: the Monogram decals have typical age cracking; the Microscale decals do not and look to be in 'near mint' condition.

Aurora Messerschmitt Me-109 - Brooklyn Issue Bf-109 - Famous Fighters of All Nations, 1/48, 55-59

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Very rare first issue. Of Aurora's 'Original Brooklyn 8,' this is usually considered the hardest one to find. Inside, the kit is 100% correct with no/minimal rivet detail, no bombs and no landing gear. The color is the unique first run non-metallic 'medium red' with clear canopy and stand. The stand is the correct square one marked 'Brooklyn.' The instructions are correct Brooklyn also, and the decals are the proper early 'Tatem Company' issue with the swastika. It even includes the original factory packing tissue. This kit has never been started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts in perfect condition, amazing 'excellent but rolled' decals and 'excellent++' instructions with a tiny pinhole as the only real flaw. The box is the low end of the 'good' range as shown. There is a litho tear from the factory tape on the upper long side and it measures 1/5" long by 1/2" wide (average). This kit must be shipped double boxed and insured.

Aurora Lockheed XFV-1 VTO - Vertical Take Off - Famous Fighters Of All nations, 1/48, VTO-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Rare first issue from the early 1950s with the 'Famous Fighters of All Nations' box . Aurora's first logo is on the side with the West Hempstead address and also please note the 79 cent price extension on the part number. Inside it is 100% correct with first logo instructions, early Tatem decals and the parts molded in gloss silver & green-tinted clear. Never started and inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The decals are in remarkable 'excellent+ condition and the instructions are 'excellent++.' Even the original factory packing tissue is present. The canopy is 100% intact with no cracks but NOTE: it has a haze to it. I used some Novus plastic polish and it did go away (became clear) but there was significant effort involved.

Aurora Japanese Type 97 Chi-Ha Medium Tank, 1/48, 313-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

First issue dated 1964 and "Famous Fighters" oval on the four sides only. Graphic John Steel box artwork. This kit features flexible treads, tank commander and three ground troops, two rifles, rotating turret, elevating gun optional position top hatch and working tracks/wheels. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the box displays better than the 'excellent' grade. It is rated as such because there is light to moderate localized shelf wear/scuffing on the two short box ends.

Frog Vickers Valiant - ('Bomber' Box Issue / Same Box Used For Vulcan / Valiant / Victor And Canberra), 1/96, F353

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed VG

Sold

Still factory sealed and rare. In the mid 1960s, the Frog decided to use one box for all of the 'Orange' Series large-scale jet bombers. There are illustrations of the Vulcan and Valiant on the front and the Victor and Canberra on the back. Since the artwork was always the same, the only way to tell what kit was inside was to read the large sicker affixed to the short side panel. This one contains the 1/96 Valiant.

MPC German WWII Luftwaffe Personnel - 48 Pieces, 1/76, 1-6012

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Sold

Still factory sealed, dated 1982 and from quality Airfix molds. Nicely detailed figures for any diorama near 1/75 and 1/87 (OO and HO) scale. The men are in a useful variety of poses and equipment, including refueling, carrying spanners (two types), positioning bomb, pilot boarding aircraft, serious seeming officers in peaked caps with charts or maps, checking stuff twice. The realistically creased coveralls and flight suits seem a good touch. Just the thing for your diorama of a busy 1/72 Luftwaffe morning. "Mach dein Arbeit gut, Jungs! Wir wollen keine Storungen im Flug!"

Inside, the fittings are still in the factory sealed bag and all of the parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete with all paperwork and plans. Nothing has been assembled but NOTE: this kit has minor and very neat work done as follows: the stern of the ship has had some carving and sanding; it is correctly done and of 'excellent++' quality. Also, 6 parts have been cut out of the printwood sheet and they are all present. There are no other parts cut out and no other work done.
