Still factory sealed. This model is from the same molds as the 1950s 'S' kit, which has excellent detail for that time. Features full hull, complete deck fittings with ladders, winches, deck houses, ships wheel, vents, bollards, capstans and more, two motor launch, two whale boats and rafts, molded ratlines, 19 preformed vacuform sails and more. The 295' bark rigged sailing ship was built in 1936 in Bremerhaven, Germany, for the German Navy. It was originally named Horst Vessel. The vessel was acquired in 1946 as a World War II war reparation. The ship was named the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle, and has been used ever since as a training ship for future U.S. Coast Guard Officers. Eagle is based in New London, Connecticut.

Both are highly prefabricated models with all quality western pine hardwood parts cut and finished to final shape, truck, good details and full-color decorations for the tank car and box car sides and ends. They are never started. Some parts are still in the factory sealed envelopes; all other parts that are not sealed have been inventoried complete. With all paperwork included. Strombecker was famous for it's pre-cut and shaped wooden aircraft, ship and train kits. While other manufacturers issued simple blocks of wood with plans, Strombecker took the chance of increased price and finished the wooden parts to shape or very close to it.

From the mid 1960s and another successful design for Class C Stick National Competition by Wally Simmers. Climbs at 1200 feet/min on rubber power with a glide angle of 10 to 1. Large and graceful. Features covering tissue, high quality print and stripwood, carved prop, hardwood and beautiful full size plans. Never started and inventoried complete. NOTE: although there is no assembly, some parts were 'loose' (outside the printed lines) cut from the printwood, mainly wing parts.

Comet Stinson SR-7 - 25 inch Wingspan Flying Balsa Airplane Model, 3209

1970s reissue of the older kit. Features traditional wood/tissue construction, quality printwood sheets, factory cut stripwood and spar, formed wire propeller shaft/rubber hook, formed and finished thrust button, clear canopy material, tissue, plastic propeller and detailed full size plans with building instructions. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete. The box has light age foxing (brown spots) on the other side; hence the lower 'good++' grade. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Cabin style 1949 record holding aircraft designed by Wally Simmers. These aircraft were common in the 1930s when the sport of free-flight model airplanes reached it's zenith. It was not uncommon for these models to fly for 45 minutes or more on rubber power alone - many flew out of sight. It soon became common practice to write your name, address and phone number on the covering tissue if you wanted to get it back! Quality kit includes printwood, strip wood, precarved prop, two colors of tissue and beautiful full size plans. The model has not been started. These models are of very high quality and include printwood, full color decals, strip wood, plastic propeller, rubber motor, nylon thrust bearing, metal prop/rubber hook, plastic wheels, beautiful copies of the original full size plans, covering material (rolled up in the plans) and very highly detailed instructions on the back of the plans. Sterling Yacht America With Optional Fittings Set - 51.5 Inches Long Wood Model For Static Display or Radio Control, 1/22, B-22M

Very rare, large and detailed model. Sterling was once the undisputed king of large RC wood and metal ship kits, having a complete line of Chris Craft yachts, merchantman 'American Scout', battleship USS Missouri, Texaco Lumba Lumba, Schooner Emma C. Berry and this legendary racing schooner Yacht American. The optional ship fittings kit B-22M is included also. This is a kit of the ship built by W.H. Brown of New York and launched on May 3, 1851. Her initial claim to fame was the winning of the Hundred Guinea Cup, which then became known as the America's Cup. She served with distinction on both sides of the US Civil War but was destroyed when a protective shed collapsed on her in 1944. The model represents the ship as she was rigged at launch and up to 1859. Features accurately die cut balsa an imported birch plywood, birch decks with planking groves printed in, tapered masts, booms and spars, miniature rope in the correct color and size for standing and running rigging, fine quality sail cloth, metal chain, hardware, full size plans and instructions. Can be built for static display, single channel rudder, or full RC of the rudder and sails. The kit has never been started. The small fittings are still in the Sterling factory sealed bag. All other parts were never factory sealed have been inventoried 100% complete including all die cut wood sheets, flags, clear material for windows and superb plans with instructions.

Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Please note that the box displays "Near Mint" but is only graded 'excellent+++' because the right short side panel has some scuffing.

One of a very popular line of World War 1 stick and tissue flying model kits with an 18 inch wingspan. Features scale plastic wheels, propeller, nose cowl & engine, thrust button and pilot bust, die cut balsa parts, rubber motor and decals. Includes excellent full size, detailed plans. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE missing one decal, (1) of (2) optional top wing 'windows' which Guillow's chose to represent with small rectangle decals. Guillow's founder, Paul K. Guillow, was a WWI naval aviator. In 1926 he began producing wooden model airplane kits. His 'Shelf Models' were some of the earlier non-flying models in production. Guillow's grew during the model boom of the 1930s, and when the Depression hit the hardest, Guillow's responded with lower prices and became one of the low price leaders, frequently advertising in Model Airplane News and other leading publications. During the war, like most manufacturers, Guillow's was forced to alternative materials such as cardboard and pine. Guillow's survived the post WWII slump by creating many inexpensive profile flying rubber powered aircraft and gliders in the 1950s (along with North Pacific) which became famous - some are still available today. The stick and tissue lines have been updated with laser cut parts and are still in production as of 2009.
