Airfix Fairey Rotodyne, 1/72, 04002

1980s reissue from the original molds. This is a very good kit that is well detailed with 115 pieces. never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The Rotodyne first flew in 1957. The purpose was to create the first true vertical take-off airliner that could operate from an area no larger than two tennis courts with a full load. The Rotodyne flew at up to 191 MPH with a range of 450 miles and a payload of 48 passengers or 5 tons of freight. Despite the excellent performance and a larger design in the works, the RAF never placed an order and BEA never placed a firm order. The project was discontinued in 1962.

Widely considered the highest quality kit ever made of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Includes LEM, moon base, solar wind detector, seismometer, flag, astronauts, laser reflector, stereo camera, decals, gold foil and TV Camera. Never started. First issue dated 1977. This large kit measures a foot in length with a wingspan of 10 inches; it is molded in white and clear plastic. Never started. Very rare and even more so in this condition: never started and 100% complete. This is a very well detailed model from late 1965/1966. It features optional parts so you can build it one of three ways, detailed 289 engine or a four-carb 427 Big Block V-8, opening hood, choice of stock or custom/drag hood, stock, custom or race interior, spare tire (in the fastback) for GT and Racer, full differential & driveline, separate exhaust, optional front and rear pans, GT hood, side scoops & roof inserts, red-line stock tires (turn over for blackwalls), rear drag slicks and much more. Molded in ivory, clear, red-tinted clear, chrome plate and with rubber tires. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please NOTE: there are tire burns on (1) inner wheel half (still OK to use) and on the race driver figure on the neck, (1) boot and (1) arm.

This release has the very desirable and superb diorama instructions showing you how to make a ditched TBD at the Battle of Midway in WWII. This is a very highly detailed kit with complete interior, folding wings, elevating and rotating tail gun, working propeller and arresting gear, optional position gun compartment doors & canopy, optional parts for bomber or torpedo versions and more. Very rare high-gloss box issue that is motorized. The model features an all-metal gearbox, all hardware, flexible tracks (that are still in great condition and 100% intact), a healthy-sized TKK Mabuchi Motor in the original box, excellent detail and more. The kit has never been started. Inside, all of the small and metal parts are still sealed in factory bags with Tamiya "US ARMY LIGHT TANK M41" paper headers. The motor is in the original colorful Tokyo Kaguku K.K. box. The parts that were not sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions in 'very good+' condition.

Mid to late 1960s issue for rubber or 1/4 to 1/2A gas power. This is a very robust Comet design and could be converted to electric power and made RC with today's small and light servos and receivers. Features traditional stick-and-tissue construction, 5 sheets of quality die-cut printwood, factory-cut stringers and spars, fully formed leading and trailing wing edges, formed wire landing gear struts, rubber motor, fully finished wheels and thrust button, metal propeller shaft, propeller, balsa block and other required wood stock, clear material for windows & windshield, covering tissue, color insignia and detailed full size plans with building notes. The kit has not been started and has been inventoried complete with all parts and plans. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Includes paint guide and markings for the "Bendix Trophy Winner" that made the record New York to London run. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The box displays much better than the 'good' rating but is graded as such because there is tape residue along the lower edge of all four sides.
