UPC Mitsubishi Ki-46 IIIA Dinah - Ex-Marusan, 1/50, 5054-100

Large scale (1/50) Dinah from Marusan molds. Box artwork is by Scott Eidson, who did much of the famous Revell artwork. Features good cockpit details, crew, drop tank, retractable landing gear and optional position tail wheel, working rudder, aileron, elevator and flaps. Includes decals for three aircraft. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. UPC did not cut their own molds, but bought kits already molded from other manufacturers and re-boxed the kits in the USA. Scott Eidson, the famous artist best known for his artwork with Revell, also did UPC box art in the 1960s. All UPC production ended in the 1970s.

From the late 1960s or very early 1970s. Well executed and evocative box art shows a pilot from the Hosho air group confronting a flight of Curtiss 68s, set against towering cloud formations. Well molded with fine detail. Features split wing flaps, rotating wheels, cockpit detail, rotating prop, drop tank and color decals. NOTE: this kit has 'professional' quality subassembly as follows: wing halves; engine into cowl, cockpit built and in a fuselage half and drop tank halves. The actual aircraft has been inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present present but NOTE: missing display stand.

Air Lines Martin Baltimore Bomber - RAF - (ex-Frog), 1/72, 9800

From about 1965. Very finely molded and contains no rivets - just fine panel lines. Features rotating turret, crew of three and some interior detail and optional position landing gear. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Box art is by the famous Jo Kotula who did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News' and later the Aurora box art of the late 1950s. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.

Hardbox first chromed issue dated 1964. The chrome plated parts are in amazing 'near mint' condition, almost perfect. This is very rare. I have properly protected them for shipping. A fine example of Hawk's unique and realistic multi-textured chrome plate. Features all parts to build Razorback or Bubble top versions, 'good' cockpit detail, pilot figure, optional position canopies, under-wing drop tanks and bombs, optional pitch prop blades, 'good' engine front detail and full decals for one of two natural finish Thunderbolts - Major Glenn T. Eagleston's colorful aircraft from the box art or a Burma-based Razorback rom either the 10th or 14th Air Force. Complete paint guides are included along with a clear photo of the prototype aircraft also. Molded in chrome plate, black and clear. Never started. The parts have been inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.

Softbox issue dated 1966 with Tom Morgan artwork. This is a much later issue since there is no price extension on the part number (the factory removed it). Features pilot figures, mechanic, removable jet engine and aft fuselage, engine cradle and opening canopy. Molded in white and clear and with a large and colorful decal sheet for the box art aircraft. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
