Aurora Convair F-102 Dart - (Delta Dagger), 1/121, 290-29

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

$42

Hardbox issue dated 1957 but probably from the early 1960s since the oval Aurora logo does not have 'Famous Fighters' in the outline. This popular small scale kit has dramatic Jo Kotula box artwork and is nicely molded with a clear canopy, full landing gear and display stand. This is a model of the very early YF-102 prototype with the straight (non-area rule) fuselage. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Around this time, Aurora issued a series of inexpensive (usually 29 cent) small scale kits that were designed to sell at almost any type of retail location. The line was very successful and quickly expanded. When Aurora purchased the Comet molds, those models fit in nicely with this established line.

Aurora Mace TM-76 Guided Missile, 1/48, 130-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$229

1958 'Famous Fighters' first and only release. Large 1/48 scale kit of the early guided missile. Includes booster rocket and clear display stand. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Aurora 1913 Mercer Raceabout - Old Timers Issue, 1/16, 572-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

$129

Still factory sealed with a very short split at the top right long side. Dated 1961. This big 1/16 scale model, along with the other 'Old Timers' represented a significant leap forward in quality for Aurora. It features a rolling chassis build like actual automobile, full suspension, transaxle and driveline, complete exhaust, detailed interior and more. Usually molded in gloss ivory, gloss black and with brass plated parts and real rubber tires. Aurora was renowned for turning a profit and for keeping expenses down. In researching new kit subjects, they came upon a forgotten jewel - the Hudson Miniatures line of 1/16 scale wooden kits. Hudson had discontinued this line due to lack of sales of wooden kits. But the Hudson models were second to none in quality, research and documentation. Aurora was quick to realize this and used the research and layout from these kits to create the subjects for this 'Old Timers' series. It is fortunate for us that they did, because in most cases this is the only injection molded kit of these rare and classic early automobiles.

Aurora Convair VR XFY-1 Pogo, 1/48, 60-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$89

First issue from the early 1950s. Rare, big 1/48 scale kit. Please note the early Aurora rectangular logo, which was used from about 1953 to 1955. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including 'excellent' condition, flat decals and instructions and even includes the original factory tissue paper. NOTE: although the kit is complete, 1/8 inch (.31cm) of one-half of a tip tank is gone - it either broke off or was short shot.

Aurora 1913 Mercer Raceabout Old Timers, 1/16, 572-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$95

1961 issue. Done in a big 1/16 scale, this kit and the other 'Old Timers' in the series represented a significant leap forward in quality for Aurora. The kit features full suspension, transaxle and driveline detail. It builds up a rolling chassis like the real car, and includes full exhaust and a detailed interior. Molded in gloss ivory, gloss black and with chrome plated parts and real rubber tires. The kit has never been started. Inside, it is exactly as it left the factory. The black and chrome parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The ivory and clear were never factory sealed and have been inventoried complete including the instructions.

Aurora Nike Hercules Missile - With Launching Platform MIM-14, 1/48, 379-129

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$325

1958 first and only release. Large 1/48 scale missile includes an elevating launcher, many moving parts and a crew of four. Molded in the correct white and olive drab. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The decals are in amazing 'near mint' condition and the instructions are 'excellent++.' The Aurora "Missile Line" is legendary. In the late 1950s, the first missile model kits sold briskly, so Aurora and Revell both planned extensive lines. However, the missile modeling craze disappeared as quickly as it started. Models that were in the works were canceled or completed if they were far enough along. Those that were completed, like the Nike Hercules, were fine efforts but sold poorly and had very short lives, making them rare collector items today.

Aurora McDonnell F-4H Phantom, 1/48, 394-249

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$129

Rare and even more so in superb, investment-grade 'Near Mint' box condition. This large-scale, early Phantom kit with great Jo Kotula box artwork is dated 1961 but actually from '64 or '65 judging from the lack of 'Famous Fighters' in the logo border. The box has fantastic color and gloss, four solid corners, no tape/tape marks and no price tags or tag marks. The only flaw is very light wear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts present and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora Bristol F2B Brisfit - (F-2B), 1/48, 113-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM+

$78

1957 first issue with dramatic Jo Kotula artwork. The box is in amazing, investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. Color and gloss are perfect, as are the four corners. There are no price tags or tape and no marks from either (other than the factory sealing tape, of course). There is no fading, cuts, tears, stains or missing litho. The only flaws are very light wear, mainly on the edges. Molded in the correct gloss dark olive and black plastic. The kit inside is mint and never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Decals and instructions are both flat and 'excellent' with typical yellowing as the only flaw.

Aurora Focke-Wulf Fw-190, 1/47, 30-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Mint

$179

Still factory sealed with the box in amazing, investment-grade "Mint" condition. The seal is 100% intact. Dated 1960 and the first issue with this artwork. Note the 79 cent price extension and "Famous Fighters" in the border of the oval sunburst logo, which is unique to the 1960 release.

Aurora Russian Stalin Tank, 1/48, 303-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+++

$139

Rare first issue from 1956 with Northern Lights logo. The box is in beautiful "Excellent+++" condition with factory-new color & gloss and four solid corners. There is no fading, no stains, no tears or missing litho, no creases and no price tags or tag marks. It would have graded 'Near Mint' but there is a very small (11mmx 5mm) factory tape pull on the upper long side. Molded in the correct gloss deep green with flexible black treads. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora Martin B-26 Marauder - Famous Fighters Of All Nations, 1/46, 371-259

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$275

Very rare first issue from the early 1950s. When Aurora moved to the West Hempstead plant, they planned a series of very large scale bombers. All kits released up to this time had been small. Aurora's instincts were correct, and the B-26, B-25 and B-29 were a big sales success. This box art was done by Jim Cox and was only used for about one year, making it very rare. The kit has never been started and is inventoried 100% complete with all parts, large clear stand, instructions and decals. The box has great color, four solid corners with no repairs, no creasing, no stains, fading or writing, no cardboard tears or rips, no price tags and no tape beyond the factory sealing tape. There is light general wear and please note that the box displays slightly better than the 'Excellent' grade but it is rated as such because there is light general wear not visible in the photo and a 1.5" x 3/8" factory tape tear on the top long side.

Aurora M8 Munitions Carrier And 8 inch Howitzer, 1/48, 310-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$375

Dated 1958. Very rare dual kit that contains both models. Very well detailed for that time with 276 parts. Each has many operating features including movable tracks, gun, bulldozer blade, ammunition loader and more. Includes crew members. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Please note that the box looks slightly better than the 'good+' grade but is graded as such because there 1.25" x .7" section of litho missing on the left short side where a price tag was torn off. there is also other general wear and edge wear as shown.

Aurora Atomic Submarine Nautilus SS571, 1/242, 500-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Poor

The kit has never been started. NOTE: missing parts. Both bow dive planes and one prop are missing. NOTE: decals have been cut out and are missing (2) eyeballs and one shark's mouth. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts, decals (separated) and instructions. NOTE: instructions are present but completely split in two down one fold seam. The box looks better than the 'poor' rating but is graded as such because there is extensive clear tape holding the top together, stains and missing litho as shown at the bottom and on the bottom long side. The tray (lower box) is present but split along most seams.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc-

Please note that this is an earlier issue with 'Famous Fighters' in the oval border of the Aurora logo and is has the '.29' on the lower right. Nicely molded with a clear canopy, full landing gear and display stand. The line was successful and further expanded - when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, they fit in nicely with this established line.
