1961 hardbox 'Picture Fleet' issue from the original 1954 Pre-S molds. Features one piece hull, early heavy AA and light batteries that are separately molded, cranes, detailed island and air wing of Cougars, Skyraider, F4U Corsairs and helicopters. I recommend purchasing Loren Perry's Gold Medal Models PE Super Detail Set which does wonders for all of the box scale Revell aircraft carriers, including this one. Starfighter Decals also does does an amazing job on a modern and comprehensive decal sheet that includes the air wing. The kit has never been started. Never started and the parts and all paperwork are still in the internal factory sealed bags. Literally all of the contents are factory sealed. The short-lived Whip-Fly series seemed like a good idea...at first. It was quickly discontinued when Revell discovered that heavily weighted models with sharply pointed noses traveling at 50 or 60 MPH might not be safe.
