Franklin Mint Armour Collection F-86 Sabre 'Mig Mad Marine' John Glenn, 1/48, B11C990

Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$95

Rare. Brand new, never removed from the box and complete. High quality die-cast model that is completely factory built and painted. Please note the canopy is present, but Franklin Mint shipped them off the model. You have to snap it on to install it. When I saw this kit had never been removed from the packaging, I did not open it. If any of the paperwork is important to you, let me know before you purchase and I will check for you. This is what Franklin Mint says about each of these models: "Each of our die-cast models are hand-assembled and hand painted to ensure quality and authentic detail. To create each exciting precision replica, our designers and engineers make exhaustive examinations of their subject from every conceivable angle; photographing, sketching and in many cases studying the actual plans. Months are spent sculpting a scale prototype that captures even the most intricate details. The result: A precision-engineered model of unsurpassed quality that you will be proud to own and display. Each is a masterpiece of the model maker's art, reflecting our passion for perfection, our total commitment to superb craftsmanship, and our abiding respect for quality and authenticity."

Molded in a brilliant gloss deep blue and clear with the clear triangle 'World' stand. These molds are from one of Aurora's first two kits - the F9F and F-90. O-Lin (Olin) was founded by Paul Lindberg and a Mr. Olsen - hence the company name. Although a producer of flying models in the 1930s, O-lin produced some of the earliest American injection molded kits in the late 1940s. In 1950 the partnership may have ended, because all branding was changed to Lindberg and Paul Lindberg.
