Jim Walker A-J Interceptor Folding Wing Glider

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

NOTE: this is an incredible reproduction of the original; it is not the original. The original is a very rare early 1950s flying glider model. This reproduction uses an expensive (and very convincing) copy of the original box. Inside is an amazing reproduction right down to the printed colors, design, size and functionality. This is a flying replica recreated down to the smallest detail of the wing fold design and colorful decoration. Like the original, it is ready to fly and includes the rubber band catapult.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Original Renwal issue from the late 1950s. The hardbox has fantastic artwork of Hawk in action shooting down a four engine bomber, which is probably a B-17 drone (like the Nike Ajax boxart). This was an excellent kit for that time featuring three removable missiles, a detailed launch trailer that elevates and rotates the missiles, complete radar trailer with rotating and tilting radar housings. There is a crew of four and full decals. The kit has not been started. The missiles are still sealed in the factory bag. The launcher and radar trailer were never factory sealed, and they have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions.

ITC Savoia-Marchetti S-55 Flying Boat, 1/96, 3728-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Sold

From the late 1950s. The first aeroplane to fly across the Atlantic in formation! The S-55 was a unique aircraft with the passenger compartments in the floats and the cockpit in the wing; the two engines are mounted in tandem push/pull above the cockpit. The S-55 proved to be very reliable and airworthy, setting 14 world records for speed, altitude and distance with a payload. Three months before Lindbergh's solo Atlantic flight, the S-55 flew with stops from Italy to Rio and NY City. In 1933 Marshal Balbo led 25 S-55s to Chicago in about 48 hours. He then flew back without incident. Never started. The clear parts are still in the factory sealed bag; the parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Please note, the box would grade higher than 'very good++' but is rated as such because there is a tape tear on the upper long side (about 1.5" x .5").

All kits are still factory sealed or inventoried 100% complete. The S-55, D-558-2 and F-84F are still sealed in the factory crinkle bags. The crinkle bag for the B-25 is present but holed; the kit was removed, inventoried complete and the parts placed in a zip lock bag. The B-24's bag has disintegrated and is gone. The kit has been inventoried 100% complete also. All decals and instructions are present. The B-24 instructions have the 'lost parts' coupon neatly cut from them; the original owner may have had to send to Revell to make the kit complete as it currently is! Shipping insurance is required on this kit.

Aurora Corsair American Privateer With Sails, 1/128, 433-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

NOTE: builder kit ONLY, please read carefully. Has significant assembly. Second issue with oval logo. Privateers were actually civilian ships manned by private citizens. The early US Government gave the ships 'letters of marque' and they were free to raid English shipping interests with the blessing of the US Government. Approximately 500 were in service until the practice was abolished. Although they were technically successful in raiding British shipping, the British soon blockaded the US ports and almost shut down the import/export trade. This kit is dated 1963 and is a nicely detailed model for that time. Full hull model includes detailed deck fittings, separately molded cannon, standing rigging thread, rigging instructions and diagrams, display stand, flag sheet, premolded rat lines and billowing vacuform sails. Molded in wood tan and black. NOTE: this kit has significant neat assembly. The display stand is built as well as the hull halves, deck and some deck fittings. Quality of assembly is 'excellent+' to 'near mint.' The hull is painted to 'very good' quality and most smaller parts are painted to 'excellent' quality. The kit has been inventoried complete with all parts, flags and instructions present but the bowsprit has the martingale broke off and missing. The sails are in amazing 'near mint' condition.
